They talked to Howard Hughes about doing a live 5 day/week show before MITD, but he said he couldn't afford to do it. He talks about it in one of his podcasts.

I don't care what anyone says, I will remain a Time Traveler and keep supporting the show as long as she is on. She works harder than anyone else on the network, and I think the show is better than C2C.

didn't they offer the show to Mike Vara and a couple of others. I don't think anyone that needs to make a living wants to take it because the show has laid off so many people that the job is really unsure. Not sure about the job offers

Except VW didn't have a "problem" with their software.  They deliberately coded their software to operate differently when hooked up to the data port for emissions testing. That is not a software "problem". That is a deceptive trade practice.
