Whatever one's personal beliefs, this guy (Roger Gallagher) is a serious academic with more experience in this field than anyone I've heard since Malachi Martin.  I feel bad saying this, but it's the first time Good Dave has sounded out of his depth in an interview.  It's making me wish Art Bell had been able to interview Gallagher.  The man has a story to tell and he needs some help telling it.  I cringed when Dave came back from break doing his evil voice and cracking jokes.  Oh, and a psychiatrist would never call a patient a "whackadoodle" as Dave just did.

I love this guy.  He is not given to "woo," but does not dismiss everything. 

Usually when a guest is on a "woo woo" show, I find myself longing to hear that guest interviewed by "good George."  Tonight, I think that "good Dave" is doing an excellent job.  Asking the right questions, allowing the guest to go into philosophy and religion.  Very well done between guest and host. 

I hope he can be on once or even twice a year...

I don't know, I think Dave's just trying to keep it light. I don't feel that he's treating the subject or guest with any disrespect. This type of discussion can become a complete downer if treated too seriously. Personally, I think it's more pleasant and entertaining if it doesn't get real heavy.
