This show is a shoddy mess, hosted by someone who is not awfully bright. She is too lazy to try and improve herself so this thing will inevitably get worse. She also has no aptitude for what she is doing, and conversations with the guest drift away into side-streets of banality. Unless the guest is an experienced interviewee the whole thing turns into a boiling clusterfuck. The vocal mannerisms are also incredibly irritating: the sharp intakes of breath, the cretinous gushing, the vocal fry.

I have no idea how she gets away with this fucking mess!

I don't think this is entirely unproductive.  There's muuuch less of the shrill vitriol that was getting puked here daily (HOURLY) just a month or two ago, and a kind of quieter, more level-headed discussion/critique going on.  During the show, the tone turns a bit more biting, haha--but that's to be expected, in the moment.

A few posts ago, GravitySucks listed a few names, and I think he's absolutely right, the point is well taken--some real talent has come out of this site.  That's a pretty cool thing. 

Once calmer voices rise to the top--and discuss what they believe others aren't getting right--it makes for the kind of talk that sharpens everyone in a good way.  I'm always a fan of legitimate critique--whether you're making it or receiving it, it can do a lot of good.  As long as it doesn't devolve into "Fuck you!"  "No, fuck YOU!", it serves a purpose.

It sounds to me like the only other option he considered was shutting the whole thing down. In which case, you would have to listen to something else. So if you don't like MITD with Heather, just tell yourself Art shut the whole thing down. And listen to something else. It's been 4 months. Show hasn't folded yet. Art doesn't appear to be motivated to do at least one night per week. Time to move on and quit bitching about it.

And I am not singling you out. Consider this a Public Serrvice Announcement.

Thanks Chefy. Yeah last week I wasted 9 hours listening to the show and hangin with all the great people here. I dont regret it but those are 9 hours I will never get back.
