That's a good point.  It's been Very clear that Art didn't discern between the army of scumbags who showed up just to make an ugly scene downright vile, and the long-standing and more rational but nevertheless disappointed BellGabber crew.

I can't really blame him though - I don't think he has the years of active daily room participation that most people here have grown up with, and even most of the long-standing members have sounded angry if not outright accusatory (constantly reinforcing each other's idiotic "there is no stalker, Art just wanted to quit" conspiracy theory).

Even now that nearly all of the slime has slithered elsewhere, it's almost impossible to find a kind word about him here.  So I think in his mind it's all mixed up into one big bag of shit.

But the change over the last week alone is startling.  Early on I added everyone who seemed particularly stupid and vile to my ignore list, and there were only a handful of posts per page left to read, for weeks.  Now it's completely flipped around:  the only worthless dipshits still posting, who are on my list, are KoK and DB.  But even now the Art Bell thread is still pretty Chernobyl.  It's sad.  Because the people posting there are people with enough brains and wit to stay off my ignore list, but there seems to be something of a mob mentality in effect that makes the majority sound like mean-spirited conformist middle-schoolers.

I don't think they're going to get back to being the fun snarky group that brought me here until they hear some good news, and I don't see any of that happening in the near term.

BTW, this guest is incredibly awful.  He sounds like a refugee from a high school chess club.
