I just realized something. We have lots of effort and jack shit for results.

After all these years of research, interviews, photographs, videos, etc. we are really no closer to  producing any hard evidence of alien visitation,  abduction, ghosts, Bigfoot, or any other cryptoid. It's kind of depressing.

No "There" there?  Surprise!

Then how do you explain this " creature" that's about to abduct/eat this poor dog

We do have the spirit of a horse trapped in the body of a human

And I've often heard from one especially personable and reliable source that disclosure right around the corner, so it probably won't be long now

It's a basic woo woo/gullible consumer model. A bit like pushing class A narcotics. First the initial scepticism and resistance needs to be overcome; then a plausible introduction and taster. Then let it take a life of it's own. Stand back and be the provider of more to slake the thirst. The habit only stops when 'enough' is reached/woo woo has a provable outcome.

Or this creature, lurking in the night?

Native Americans were visited by aliens who were more technologically advanced than they were.  It didn't work out very well for them.

This is what is known as the "noory paradox."  It goes like this:

Noory is far to stupid to exist... yet he does!

Things really got moving when the internet came into its own. What was just a fringe thing then turned mainstream, and we got saturated with this stuff for a while, in various forms. It all seemed new then, but after a while they end up repeating themselves, because these 'phenomena' never develop into anything concrete or interesting, it's all just shadows on the wall. The UFO crowd are the worst, I think - all they do is bicker among themselves, mainly for the reason that there is nothing to say any more that hasn't been said umpteen times already.

Not true!!!! Pictures of real cryptoids are out there.

The Fiddler Crab/humanoid hybrids are seen regularly in some coastal states.

And let's not forget the Zebra Women of the Plains. This one has her own successful fashion line.

And I defy anyone to explain this creature in human terms.

I refer you to the Falkie thread, sir, for a full explanation of this mythical monster.

I am no longer going to eat lunch today... thankyou bellgab
What?  No roasted Noory Sandwich today?  How about a little rat?  A nice rat kebab can do wonders.

But seriously....it's true.  That comment above about the Internet basically ramping everything up then the whole deal goes mainstream thanks to the History Channel.  Now there is quite literally nothing new to talk about.  We're in the middle of what will be know in history books as the Great Regurgitation.  Nick Redfern will soon have written a book about virtually every conceivable topic and the study of the "paranormal" will then only exist on historical threads at abovetopsecret.com.

Just Me

I just saw a formation of UFOs the other day. I got pics but they came out as spheres.

This what I saw over the woods out front. This is a pic of the woods and spheres added to show the deal.

I have a couple a pics of these but they came out as dark spheres. Happened all real quick so I had no time to fuck with the camera settings to get that money shot. Thats how it goes when this shit happens. No time to think, set the camera up, focus and celebrate.

I thought the whole thing went by in 6 seconds but checking the exif from the first snap to the last snap it was 14 seconds before they were gone.

You might want to ask Billy Meier for some technical tips. He could do all that shit, with one arm tied behind his back.  ;)

He's satisfying himself with the mystical Phantom Limb Phap technique he learned from the Playdohians.

Actually no, not a lot of effort.  Hardly any $ goes into it because hardly any $ can be expected to come out of it.  However, given some more spending, think of the research that could be done on some of those topics.  If Bigfeet were made of some very expensive metal, imagine how many more would be prospecting for them.  If Bigfoot investig'ns could afford aerial views & illumination, they'd be more powerful than the ground-level-alone searches being done now.

Ghosts there are various possible avenues to research.  To the extent they're considered residues of the dead, work could be done to attempt to produce animal ghosts.  In terms of other types of presence, there could be wide scale sweeps for systematic detection of them.  Efforts could also be made to synthesize ghosts from various nonliving sources.

With the proliferation of video surveillance, it would seem software could be developed to scan large amounts of video data for evidence of abductions, aliens, etc.  That is, identify non-human humanoids.

George Hansen has pointed out that paranormal research in general is severely underfunded.

Perhaps that's because  there isn't really any interest in the subject because the culmination of decades of research, albeit underfunded, is not really something people want to throw money at.  I mean I guess you could make the case that there have been some government studies which I'm sure were funded much better than private ones but there's always bias.  Nevertheless, there's such as shockingly low amount of hard evidence that anyone who would agree to throw large sums of money out it would be hedging a bet on a very shaky topic.

Perhaps it's because none of it is real, or if it is there are so many charlatans and kooks out there it's nearly impossible to get to what is real?

Thanks to Art Bell and his guests (and especially the handful of them he says are his friends), I no longer even consider the woo-woo part of any of it.  I've seen 2 UFOs myself, so I wouldn't mind some of the anomalies being looked into by reputable people for a change.  The problem is the topics have been so poisoned by the frauds and hucksters, that no one who already has a solid reputation in a scientific field is willing to risk that and get involved.  So we're stuck with campfire stories instead.

Lt.Uhura

It seems many "researchers" on these subjects have wasted their efforts posturing and fighting amongst themselves for ego recognition, saving little time for any actual research.
