pretty much any animal, including humans, can cause one harm. Bones are going to get broken - horses / dogs, ur going to get bitten - dogs, fish, humans, birds. S & R's tigers are tigers. Not wild in the wild sense as most were hand raised by Roy. But a tiger is always a tiger. Roy loved them......Siegfried did not. Roy was the one that had'd the relationship with them. I'm not sure I would call what he did 'poking.' As in when I rode horses, I don't think I was ripping there mouth out when I pulled back on the reins to make them stop with a bit in their mouth. He might have a rod in his hand, but that may be used as a tapping communication against the body.....not done to hurt, but as a direction, to get attention or awareness......the music in the showroom is so loud, I'm not sure verbal commands would be heard. I have had a the experience  of seeing things in a different light.

Not all interactions between animals and people are cruel. Riding a horse is not cruel in the least. A lot of people don't get that. Those people are scared when my dogs bark at them. There are only two reasons they bark at people: 1) to let me know there's a person there -and- 2) to get the person's attention so they can get some free affection. They're such little whores.

I used to work with a woman whose son clipped the wrong, high voltage wire inside of a manhole.  I felt bad for her, but wondered why you would not check for voltage before cutting the massive copper wire...

Some people just presume safety if they're supposed to be there and just do the wrong thing.

There was that news truck that the engineer lifted the mast under power lines...  Stupid in itself but with someone who should have known better it becomes harder to stomach as an "accident" and more "negligence."

I used to worry about my little girl dog (18 lbs.) being a target for the birds-of-prey around here. I don't think there was enough open space for a bird to strike though. I don't worry about my remaining boys (21 lbs. & 26 lbs.). I think they're too big to be taken from above. We have no alligators where I live and in 16 years I have not see a venomous snake. The dogs rule over the iguanas. The biggest hazards for them are humans and maybe a bufo toad. The bufos are in the area, but I've never seen one this close to the ocean.

Yes I have a 26 lb. fully in shape Dachshund. He's a good boy. Just don't fuck with him.

I feel the same way about potential ISIS attacks on Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, San Francisco/Oakland, Los Angeles, Denver and a couple of dozen other cities. 

If most of California falls into the ocean, using one of those "future maps" that Major Ed "Bring Me the Gold" Dames (or someone) did, I see that I will mostly likely be part of the island that is San Diego.  I'm all for that.  Too many people alive on this planet as it is.  Tired of whiny cities that have rampant crime by the citizens or politicians.

All my Dachshunds have been standards. The youngest one is on the large size and is now a great dog. He was bit reactive when I rescued him but that's been pretty much worked out. Dachshunds like to mess with each other's heads. The sneaky stuff they pull on each other is amazing and clever.

The mucous covering the bufo toad is toxic and will poison dogs, sometime fatally. No fun. They are by one of the dog parks we go to which is just a few miles west of here. If we find one there we just move it outside the fence and let 'em go.

Very bad news. If you think your dog, even a Great Dane size dog, has gotten ahold of one, stick the garden hose in his mouth ASAP. They go into convulsions.

I worry more about the one dog park I go to also being a gay meetup area (think Grindr) that I do about the bufo toads. I don't dare use the bathroom there and some of the gay people I know won't use it either.
