In the months before Art's plan to retire from hosting c2c back in 2002, the network had several guest hosts for c2c who essentially were trying out for the new main host position.  Noory was one of those and apparently the network picked him over the others, probably because he was the biggest ass-kisser and would take the smallest salary?

There is no direct relationship between blogsites like The Ghost of Coast, and discussion boards (forum sites) and C2C or the PremRat network. They are just independent sites created by fans (or anti-fans) of the show. Some try to get Noory to plug the site on the air, but that doesn't seem to help them since they only appear to shrink in activity, in contrast to bellgab...

We didn't know any details of Art's c2c non-compete agreement until years later since he kept working as a periodic weekend or guest host for several years after his retirement in 2003.  He finally dropped all connection with PremRat network a few years ago and thats when his non-compete apparently started and he couldn't do anything for a few years, but when it was over he made the deal with Sirius/XM radio for the Dark Matter show but that only lasted a few weeks and then a 2 year non-compete started with them and finally was over back in July which is when MITD started.

Noory and many of the c2c weekend/guest hosts had or have their own local paranormal type radio shows.  Noory did as well back prior to 2003, he was "The Nighthawk" on his local St. Louis radio show back then hosting a similar paranormal subject show that aired nightly prior to c2c.

Art Bell's c2cam started out as a mostly open lines and often political topic program in the late 1980s and early 1990s, starting as a local Las Vegas show and gradually expanded over the years to cover the USA and Canada.  In the early to mid 1990s Art would get lots of regular callers like Doc Democrat and Charlie Liberal. Art also at that time had a separate Sunday night show called Dreamland that was a paranormal show with a guest for a couple hours plus Linda Howe's weekly hour reports.  In the mid-90s Art started bringing some of the Dreamland guests to a few shows of the weeknight c2c shows and increased that until c2c also became more guests than just open lines nights.

Most of the Dark Matter Network shows exist outside the network as podcasts, Keith Rowland just picked a lot of them up and carried them as well, often delayed by days from their original broadcasts.

someone going by dixie butcher used to post here, but she faded away at some point.  she was reeeeeeally paranoid, always alluding to people stalking her and whatnot.  frankly, she seemed to be a few lightbulbs short of a full pack, based on her unrelenting paranoia.  she and i used to exchange private messages from time to time, and it was just constant references to someone harassing her or stalking her or following her, etc..
