Noory has got a contract to hide behind. He isn't going anywhere.

The contract could have a "buy out" clause and PremRad could make Art an offer he can't refuse.

But that is just wild speculation.

George N is an employee - and contracts can be broken.

Who knows, but a really "sweet" offer could overcome a bitter feeling.

Dateline

How would going 4 nights a week take the show to the next level?  He has also been teasing that point.

But please Art, no Falkie Fridays with a Kathy's Corner on your show time.

Isnt premrat broke? I thought I hewrd that somewhere, probably here. I don't see how they can buy out one contract and start paying another.

He's advising people to join Time Travellers...  Did he get the rights to his old C2C and/or Sirius shows?

Wilderness

Art just advised 'get time traveller' on his Facebook page on same topic.

I'm guessing there will be no more free show feed?

I don't see how this is the 'next step' - he wanted the show to be free when listening live.

Just saw above- post - makes sense.

$20.5 billion with a B in debt.

I seriously doubt it is a move back to C2C - since he was touting Time Traveler subs. And Hell hasn't frozen over. No way he'd go back to corphell -- his dream gig is getting legs and I think that has something to do with what is what's happening. He could be getting more radio stations and adding a couple of minutes commercial time?

But still the emphasis was on subs... so I still hope it's getting availability to the Dreamland archives.

The archives will now include bumper music, but for legal reasons they'll all be covers performed by ufo phil.

So, Art replied to the post on his public profile:

QuoteMy advice is join the Time Traveler's at artbell.com

What I would love to hear are some old Area 2000 shows...

I hope he doesn't go behind a paywall, especially when PayPal is the only option available to pay. "Free" for live listening and benefits (podcasts, wormhole, archives, exclusive shows, etc) for Time Travellers is the way to go and grow listeners, at least I think. IF going behind the paywall exclusively than they should have other options to pay besides PayPal (and have gift memberships- Christmas is approaching) and still put out "free" shows after the fact to introduce others to the show (maybe on YouTube?)

I don't know if Keith was around way back then .. but he has hinted that he has copies of Art's shows that he can't distribute. Can you imagine the goldmine of archives he has in his personal collection??

I firmly believe the stream will STILL be free to listen to live. He insisted on that along with the inclusion of his bumper music as a prerequisite for the new show.

trostol

i was gonna say i have a serious one for once but it doesn't work..i was going to say perhaps he is moving to an earlier/different time slot

My guess is at least one night/week will be a pre-recorded interview (a la Dreamland).  For as much as Art loves live radio, it's high-maintenance--repeatedly instructing callers, etc.  I wouldn't mind at all if he did a pre-recorded show once or twice a week.  He could do the interviews on his own time, less pressure than live 5 nights/wk.

Art is doing two things. Both, of which, I recommended long ago:

1) He is cutting way back. Perhaps 2 nights/week.

2) He is returning to standard terrestrial radio. Possibly even going back to Coast.

Those two developments would be shocking to some -- like most of us. Anything else, not so much.
