Who will be the next President of the United States?

Make your prediction now a little over a year from the elections.

I'm convincing myself that the election is going to be Ben Carson Vs. Joe Biden in November with Uncle Joe running away with the election as the majority of voting Americans want an older white man who will keep the status quo.

I don't think the Republicans have a legit candidate. Trump is hilarious right now but this is so just a publicity stunt for him and being this far out from the election, he's bound to peter out and will likely be out by January.

Aside from Trump, virtually every other candidate they have has that nasty Republican stink on them that will turn off the majority of voters. I think they'll run Carson because he's the least offensive black friend of the Republican Party.

The Democrats also are in tough as they have Hilary who has no shot in hell. They've got Hipster Jesus in Sanders who will be destroyed for being a crippled pussy on top of being a commie in an election. Really the only player they have who can cross all demographics and has that Obama shine is Biden. And watching his fluff pieces in the media recently, it really seems like he'll be the guy.

How do you see it going down?

I'm going with Carson and Clinton...

Clinton will win the nomination as the media is clearly on her side and will pull it out for her in the end...but it will be stiff competition along the way...I agree with you, Sanders will be labeled a communist, but Uncle Joe will stick his foot too often in his mouth to win the nomination...

I read your other post on the other thread...you are right, she has big campaign issues...I could be wrong about her winning the nomination, but this weekend all of the talking heads were trying to convince everyone that her scandals are not hurting her numbers in South Carolina...of course, the conveniently did not cover her poor number in Iowa and NH...that is more evidence of the media being on her side...they want to sell the "first woman President" narrative for the next 9 years...

I think Carson will appeal to enough independents, women, minorities and millennials pull of the win for President...he went on the View a few months back and the liberal ladies on that show really liked him...which is odd for that group...

It's going to be one crazy ride leading up to Nov 2016! I'm looking forward to it!

All the GOP candidates will screw up, one by one as with the 2012 campaign.  Political savvy Jeb Bush will just sit in the background and watch it happen, making his move in the last three or four months.  The G.O.P. will take him as a safe bet because he is a Bush and because he has a Latino wife.

At this point I don't think the Democratic candidates are going to inspire enough excitement or confidence to get into the White House, Bernie Sander's current success aside.

I'm going out on a limb and saying it could well be Rubio against Jerry Brown.  Rubio's not my man though he was impressive in the latest debate.  I like the fact that he is getting out of the Senate.  I'd like to see Rand Paul as Prez but he's running a lousy campaign right now.  He needs to get some tips from his Dad.

I will not vote for President in 2016 unless they add "None of the Above" to the ballot in all 50 states.  I seriously believe they should do that.  I think it would be a good lesson in humility for the winner to realize he came in second to "none of the above."  That said, the only two candidates I find tolerable are Joe Biden and Ben Carson.

I think the apparent revolt against the establishment on both sides is no whim, but an actual movement that will define the election. As such I think it will be Trump vs. Sanders. And the next president will be Donald Trump.

Yeah, that's why I'm thinking that they will be the candidates specifically because people are fed up with the system. I don't think that sentiment is going to go away, especially with the under 40 voters. People might just be willing to give a democratic socialist and an egomaniac a chance for no other reason than to the shake the system up. But, contrary to what the pundits might say, Trump will simply overpower Sanders with the power of his personality and take the office. He instantly has the low-information vote because he's a celebrity.

I agree with you on Bush/Clinton. Those two are the last people I'd want running the country. I'd vote third party if it came to that.

Yeah, I'd take either. I'd vote Trump, because I think he actually would make effective trade deals. Sanders would just spend his presidency in constant gridlock, but I think Sanders is at least honest for a politician.

   Does anybody recall the very subtle maneuver HRC pulled in June, 2008? Probably not, but she spoke before AIPAC conference on 6/4/08...and hours later said she was suspending her campaign effective 6/7. She probably got that from Bill's hero, Fulbright. "I'm out, because they won't support me against Obama"

    I don't think HRC acquiesce this time. Whether it's Sanders or Biden, I think she's going scorched earth because it's her last shot.
