It does seem like callers are getting their act together too, its not like random silence and confusion for two minutes every call.

This is not bullshit.  Unfortunately Ron has no idea what he's talking about.  It starts with Jonathan Cahn's interpretation of the Shemitah and what could happen.  Combine that with Jewish Feast days (trumpets and tabernacles), Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashana, the 4 blood moons, and TONS AND TONS of pop culture references to 9/23/15.

Now, some people think it's a meteor strike...see Lyn Leahz on youtube.  Also check out C Ervana and Renee M.  None of these are sure of a meteor strike, but all think something HUGE will happen.  There are more videos than I can count for the dates between 9/13 and 9/28 or so....  Do your own research.

Add to this, Pope's visit to Obama, CERN, 500 days til climate chaos.

Hey Johnny, are you the one who called in about Jonathan Cahn? If so, I thought you did a good job, and I'm not just saying that because we both have wings.

If so, I'm not well-versed enough in any of it to agree or disagree with your perspective, but at least you sounded calm, rational and intelligent enough for me to say, "Well hell, OK, I'll check it out." And if it wasn't you, well hell, OK, I'll still check it out. Why not?

That aside, damn, Art seemed kind of combative last night. I think most callers were frustrating him. (But Starr, I liked your ghost story!) I live in fear that Art's going to get fed up and bail out again.

And I think we need a brief hiatus from Michelle in Japan and that peppy lady - Sharon from Winnipeg â€" who seem to get through almost every night. (Said the bitchy chick who's too chicken to call in herself. I almost called in with my "I saw the Virgin Mary once â€" and not in a piece of toast" story last night, but I really don't like to talk about it. I vomited when it happened. Not the best way to react to a possibly holy experience. Oops.)

But wow, Ronald is heading for the hills. I wanted to hear his wife's perspective, too â€" like, is she totally on board with it or is she some kind of a "Help, I married a wacko who's trying to break into an underground government bunker" TLC special waiting to happen? I liked the manhole kid because he at least sounded like he's taking his mega stash of pot with him.

That was my stream-of-consciousness roundup. I'm always late to these parties. One of these nights I'm going to try to be here in real time.

Sometimes MITD Open lines are amazing like the deal with the devil line but sometimes, like last night, not so much..
I only listened to the first hour and a half but that was enough for me.  If I wanted to listen to attention-seeking morons, I'd tune into The Jerry Springer Show.  Sorry, Art.

Similar to my thoughts, Seraphim.  If Ronald was really a former intelligence officer, I'm certainly relieved he isn't one now.

If you have to say "I was the guy who called about .... the other night" then you should realize you're calling too much.  Don't be a dumb ass.  Nobody wants to hear your bullshit every night.

Last nights show’s Atheist was well spoken, too bad no one was worthy of a match. I enjoyed his “Sky Fairy” phrase.

No one from The Church of the Grand Assumptions.

I was waiting for a Bible Thumper to throw out the old line “Can You Prove There Isn’t a God?”

This anti-logic is often thrown out, overlooking the fact that the Burden of Proof lies with the claimant not the doubter/unbeliever.

If “A” claims the Moon is made of green cheese, it is not up to “B” to prove it isn’t

As to the believer who called later about “looking at his hand”, he is assuming “only one Big Bang”

Bible Thumpers:

Of course my first thought was which version of the Bible did they mean?

Was it the current one based on those books approved by the Pagan Emperor Constantine at the First Council of Nicaea, where he picked and chose which books stayed and which ones got tossed?

A few words on The Pagan Constantine
Constantine is perhaps best known for being the first “Christian” Roman emperor; there can be no doubt that his reign was certainly a turning point for the Church. Nonetheless, his actual devotion to the Christian faith is largely disputed since there are more numerous and persuasive evidences which arguably demonstrate that his primary and personal worship was aligned with Roman Paganism, particularly with worship of the sun God, Apollo. It is argued by many scholars that his “conversion” to Christianity was largely a political tactic to ensure his lineal successor to the throne of the Empire.

Or, in the interest of fairness, should one or all of the other versions also be taught?

Were those wishes met, this “Fool’s Folly” would then open the door to all belief systems being worthy of equal time, including but not limited to The Book of Morman, The Torah, The Quran, Witchcraft, Voodoo, Scientology, Buddhism Hinduism, Oh and lets not forget all the ancient multi Gods of Egypt Greece and Rome, -or one of my favorites-

“The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster” -see:( http://www.venganza.org/)

The “Flying Spaghetti Monster” was first described in an open letter written by Bobby Henderson in 2005 that used satire to protest the the Kansas State Board of Education decision to permit teaching intelligent design as an alternative to evolution in public school science classes.] In that letter, Henderson parodied the concept of intelligent design by professing belief in a supernatural creator that closely resembles spaghetti and meatballs. Henderson further called for Flying Spaghetti Monsterism to be allotted equal time in science classrooms alongside intelligent design and evolution.

I think we can all look forward to the time when these three theories are given equal time in our science classrooms across the country, and eventually the world; one third time for Intelligent Design, one third time for Flying Spaghetti Monsterism, and one third time for logical conjecture based on overwhelming observable evidence.
â€"Bobby Henderson

According to Henderson, since the intelligent design movement uses ambiguous references to a designer, any conceivable entity may fulfill that role, including a Flying Spaghetti Monster. Henderson explained, “I don’t have a problem with religion. What I have a problem with is religion posing as science.

Florida Dispute
In December 2007, the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster was credited with spearheading successful efforts in Polk County, Florida to dissuade the Polk County School Board from adopting new science standards on evolution. The issue was raised after five of the seven board members declared a personal belief in intelligent design. Opponents describing themselves as Pastafarians sent e-mails to members of the Polk County School Board demanding equal instruction time for the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

In closing, this foolish pursuit were it achieved would result in all hours of the school day being used up devoted to providing equal time to all of these beliefs. There would be so many hours needed that summer vacations might have to be eliminated and no time left for any other school subjects.

But wait -I almost forgot the atheists. They would be entitled to their view;

The Atheists: A Whole Separate Can of Worms

They see the basic flaws of religion beginning with the Assumption that the Universe had a
Beginning.

Many believe there is nothing that supports that assumption and it could
just be a constant series of Big Bangs-Expansions-Contractions-Big
Bangs, resulting in an eternal reshuffling of the atoms through out its
infinite existence. Of course, if that is the case, then there is no
need to invent a “Creator” to try to explain a mythical “Beginning”.

In short, many feel that the Universe never had a “beginning” but “Just
Always Was”.

Those Of the opposite viewpoint will argue that “Everything”, must have
a “Beginning”, but when asked about “God’s Beginning”, they contradict
themselves by saying that “God had no beginning, he just Always Was”.

Sound familiar?

That sounds like a good story.  I think I'd rather hear about such an experience from someone who doesn't want to talk about it and almost vomited than from someone who wants to tell me about the universal field of love they discovered in their near death experience because they don't understand why we're all so cruel, and yes they have a book to sell.

I haven't read that argument but have long thought it was a deft political move for the Roman Empire.  The pagan gods worked well for close-knit city states when every man has to raise a spear to defend his homeland.  The ideal of a pagan society is to emulate your gods; farmers use the teachings of their agricultural Gods to harvest perfect crops and citizen-soldiers try to emulate their war gods.  It doesn't work so well for a far-flung empire with a professional army and where people a thousand miles away don't hold much allegiance to the crown.   Far better to have a God who rewards for docile behaviour and guarantees eternal fiery damnation to anyone who creates disruption, or even think about it.  After all, thought leads to obsession and obsession leads to behaviour.  This helps ensure most people will police themselves and reduces the requirement for having local militias everywhere.  I'm not sure how much Western civilization could have advanced without this shift.

Yep, that was me.  I came late to the party, but if I had heard that Ron was a former Intelligence Officer, I would have had a whole lot more to say about...officers.  I was enlisted in the USAF as a Russian Linguist in the late 80s, early 90s--we reported to the NSA.  I was stationed in Berlin when the wall came down.  It was a crazy time.  Still remember the Polish Market which was a place that former Soviet Block citizens would come and sell ALL THEIR WORLDLY POSSESSIONS for any western currency they could get.  I thought it was cool buying Soviet medals and such...until I realized how incredibly sad it was--and now the surveillance state and the same kind of markets are coming to a city near you!--all compliments of neo-cons and left-wingers who think socialism and government control are great ideas.  We won the cold war, but they won the peace through infiltration and lies.

I really felt like I dropped the ball on the whole 9/23 thing...it's exactly the kind of topic that belongs on Art's show (imho), soooo interesting...the thing is, Art will allow a guest to make his case, but callers well...  That's why I hope he brings Jonathan on as a guest, not to proselytize, (Jonathan is a fantastic preacher btw), but for his more sensationalistic, prophetic claims.

Problem is, we're very late to the party on this.

Feast of Trumpets is on the 13th (TOMORROW).
Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) is the 23rd.
Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) is on the 28th (or thereabouts).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bPXyvCQiWs

If Jonathan is wrong about the Shemitah, we'll know in a little over a couple of weeks.

I realize people don't want to be bombarded with "HAVE YOU ACCEPTED JESUS AS YOUR PERSONAL SAVIOR???"  But the prophetic side of things, for me, has always been entertaining
even when the "Prophets" like Howard Camping turn out to be....inaccurately interpreting
scripture.

Churches should not be exempt from taxation because the federal government should not be in the business of defining what a religion is.

By removing tax exemption from religions, the Federal government will have the power to do just that.  And given the misuse of the IRS against political opponents during the Obama Administration's tenure, that could be...really really bad.

Churches have to remain free of taxes in order to support freedom of religion.  Turning them into a business that has to pay taxes could prevent some churches from operating and allow others to dominate, thus denying religious services in a choice of religions and denominations.

Oddly enough if you look at places that still have direct state support of the church (several European countries) the membership is often almost nil, except for certain rites- but even then dropping. I think a part of the success of American churches was because the government weren't supporting them. I think the tax-free and charitable donations benefits (like any charities) but not direct government support is the right way to go. Of course this opens up to exploitation (fake churches, cults, etc) but that can likely be remedied by civil and criminal investigations.

I'm in vacation in Arizona, so instead of MITD starting at midnight for me, we listened from 9pm.   And I was able to turn on my three friends I'm with to Art -- sitting outside on friends patio in Carefee AZ with open space, stars, fresh breeze ...  And laughter. ... Last nights show got all three of my friends introduced to Art. So much humor last night and Art's quick wit with the callers we all were ROTFLOFAO ... What a terrific introduction for my buddies.  😄😉
