I think having a guest trying to debunk all other information previously established with testimony, recordings...etc.. from a man that wasn't there and has no frame of reference, especially when trying to promote a book, makes for a sketchy show.  Just my opinion.

Art got pretty hostile. I admit I was only kind of half listening because the guest was droning on and on but I don't think the guest said anything that intense. The guest said he respected Pope and had an issue with him on this one issue. Then I zoned out for awhile and when I started paying attention again, Art was testy and this turned into an Aztec human sacrifice.

Was this guy really different from the usual Woo artists?

Ok I didn't really get what it was all about, but seemed like alot of "inside baseball" stuff to alot of us I'm thinking.  I doubt Art follows the latest upheavals in ufology etc.  Still to your original point he probably shoulda brushed up on the main incident.

That Art Bell, ART BELL, could not ask a reasonable question about the RENDLESHAM case is very puzzling.

Why did Robbins say to piss everyone and Art off so much? He fired a couple shots at Nick Pope but the vehement reaction at the end was odd. Yeah he sucks as a guest but meh, you have some hits and some misses.

I missed the start of the show... but I can tell you that I got NOTHING out of it.  No actual information aside from the whistle blower received an honourable discharge and had some kind of a breakdown?  (Even the part about the breakdown, I'm unsure of...)

I did get that the guest was barred him from a talk where some things were said that he disagreed with, but nothing about the case.  Unlike some, I do not really follow UFO's, and have no background on the guest, his coauthor or this guy who said things that he disagreed with.  Even the examples that he gave of what was said were VERY minor overall. 

Basically, the question is why come on and talk about something that 95% of the listeners are going to know nothing about and stick almost exclusively to that topic?

It seemed to me that the guest would back peddle at least a half step from each proclamation when Art challenged him.  He kept apologizing for what he said and when Art hinted he shouldn't be accusing someone who isn't here to defend himself the guest apologized and did it all over again. I feel Art tried to direct him away from this but the narrative was already set.  2 cents.

Me too (being clueless.)  I have never even heard of this case and have 0 interest based on tonight's interview.  The "job" of the guest is to get you interested in their passion and give you some background, facts and teasers.  I got none of those, and it is not Arts fault, but the guest.

Perhaps Art should have read the book verbatim on radio.  It would have been more useful and made for more informative radio.

When did this start? I can think of a ton of one-sided shallackings on the show. Think of all the times guests have gone after Zahi Hawass.

Dump the guest. Announce you didn't like the direction of the show and go to open lines. This is what art has always done. not sure why he didn't do that tonight.

Peter set up the bitch fest with his build up to it. He made it sound like he had breaking news and had been writing furiously and had a lot of important things to say. Naturally, Art asks to hear the details or rather 'points of contention' that Peter has been leading up to and the rest is history.....

Peter chose the wrong forum to 'chicken fight' and paid dearly for it. IMO, Art should have just let it go and moved on with the details of the case. I can understand why Art would be irritated, but that was just flat out brutal and probably crossed the line.

I really did want to hear more about it, but all I got was that the guest was blocked from some conference or such.  Missed opportunity there.

Unlike other hosts we know, Art does not put up with declaring anything without some form of evidence.  While I have enjoyed Robbins through the years, it seems that the last 2 years he has been on this warpath.  I have heard him on other shows making the same charges.  Perhaps a good debate would solve the problem.
