my parents and family - hardcore conservative christians. i grow up literally being told that Art Bell is the fucking devil because he consorts with demons and plays with ouija boards. i think people at the CATHOLIC church i went to had problems with him even. when i was like 10 years old i started turning on the radio in the middle of hte night when i couldnt sleep and i would hear fucked up shit like art playing EVPs, or talking about people being 'perfectly possessed' and whatnot. or Ed Dames fucking REMOTE VIEWING SATAN! ok? this is my only interaction with the guy. in my mind, he is fucking satan. and he literally causes me a month of sleepless, horrified nights after every show of his i listen to.
i listened to the last art bell show i ever listened to for a long time in like 2002 or whatever and after that he faded from my memory.
some time goes by, i dont remember when it was and my timeline might be a little off, but at some point i stumble upon some articles about him and low and behold, they say he murdered his fuckin wife. they are big and detailed, and they lay the whole fuckin thing out. furthermore, you might think im lying or making it up but i swear to you there is DAVID OATES REVERSE SPEECH EVIDENCE OF THIS lool with the audio clips and everything (and im pretty sure it was on oates website even). sooooooo, i mean, i never questioned it. never thought much of it. it was never that important to me. it wasnt WORTH questioning to me and frankly i didnt fuckin care, you understand?
so i just carried that notion with me for a number of years, that the creepy evil dude i listened ot in the middle of the night murdered his wife. im not really to blame i mean its pretty obvious how that happens.
when he goes onto sirius i stumble on this website and art asks 'whats the most evil thing you ever did' and thats where i ended up making some offhand comment about that, not even thinking much, not knowing any of hte 'art bell' backstory and just thinking that he basically pulled a fuckin Ted Kennedy or some shit and got away with murder.
WHAAAAAATEVER, happens all the time, not my problem. but that was what i read and was taught so thats just what i chalked it up to.
some time goes by, i come back to the website, i say i dont want to tell people why i was banned. people tease it out of me, the big discussion commences that you saw the moron quote earlier in the thread (and he did take that shit out of context). i never at any point specifically say that art DEF killed his wife. i just say that it was my belief that he did because it WAS my belief that he did.
after that, you know (and really keep in mind, its not my business, so i never really gave two shits to begin with) i do a little more research and i decide to myself "meh, i dont believe that happened".
what else can i say? these stupid motherfuckers apparently have some sort of problem with that bullshit. whatever. fuck 'em, its their issue really, not mine.

there's nothing racist or offensive about it. ethnic and cultural differences were the bedrock of some of my psych classes back in college. its just one of those SORT OF PC things you arent supposed to do to talk specifically about jew or black ethnic or cultural differences. BUT they are there and pretty much every other culture (latino, asian, indian, muslim) you can talk about without people freaking out. but hey, they do run the media (and really, they do i mean google who is CEO of your favorite entertainment companies and you will see) so its not hard to see how that filters down into a general fear of even discussing them as an ethnic identity.

Thanks WR. It wasn't me though, I did not request the ban. But I got hassled by a few others last night in chat too, and didn't go after them either. People are gonna hate, overall that thread showed me how most of the people on this board are good, decent folks. I was at a loss as to how to deal with something, and that helped. But I am thinking saying all women are whores might have pissed a few of the women here off. So anyone of them could have requested the ban.
