This guest isn't so bad, but I can't see myself listening to him speak to anyone else again. Maybe if his books have pretty pictures I'll leaf through it.

He says "it could be..." and "maybe..." a little too much for my liking. It feels like I'm reliving the Warren Commission.

just curious..Dave likes to get rid of guests before their time is up..has Art ever done that?

Was it a George Green he cut off? IIRC the last straw was saying something about Ted Kennedy screwing an underage girl. Art was nice about it. Green took it pretty well

I hate people who say idea like "idear". Also hate people who pronounce Soda as "Soder"

Regional accent. You should be a little more accepting and open minded, and a bit less hateful

I heard someone pronounce "an act of hutzpah" like "an active foot spa." Sent me into a rage.

Induced hysteria in me! Love the handle, btw :)

Pole flip:  Stripper move where she changes her orientation 180 degrees...

People who believe in "man made global warming" need to figure out that pole shift/pole flip changes the jet streams...

Once they do, they'll figure out that taxing our way to pollution purity is not the answer but preparing our grid and adding pipelines for water distribution nationwide is necessary.

I just have to say:  Gawd!! It is AWESOME to have Art back!!!

Hear hear! I really like this show and this guest and will watch his Ted-X and see what I think.

But having Art at the helm of all the bits: the beginning breaking news, the bottom of the hour news, the phones. A treat all over the place. Good old Art. He's come back.

Well, I'm not a physicist but I have read a fair amount on this.  Someone like AO or astroguy could answer it more elegantly.

Ok did not know that detail.  Damn thought we found a loophole there.   You just won't let me have my instant Star Trek comms will you.   :( :P

Ancient Alien Syndrome. 'Could it be....and if that is the case, might it not be possible that.....?'

I'm only lightly buzzed and it's still great so I think it'll still hold up on a sober replay.

Absolutely, the pipeline will kill some silver-spotted bug and, with that in mind, the agriculture of California is to die off.  Food prices will soar and crop land will go bad.

The current administration seems to spend money in the most wasteful of places.  The bank bail outs and bond market support have done nothing but create a deeper hole.  :-(

Everything is awesome after some THC  :P

This one time, not at band camp, in my den, I inadvertently achieved a mental state where I could not remember the names of common objects. I realized later, that this was a form of temporary aphasia--I looked at the table, and I could not summon the word "table" to mind. I thought that was amusing and unusual, and then I realized that I didn't know the name of the object I was sitting on.

Chair. Chair chair chair. It seems so simple, doesn't it? Imagine having that taken away from you. I looked at a can of Mountain Dew, and could not call to mind the word... "can." I realized later that I was busily thinking, "why can't I remember what this thing is called?"

I ended up laughing hysterically and yelling at God to return my power of language. I was alone at home at the time, so it was no big deal, and I know what I'm doing, so it wasn't like I was going to run down the street waving a kitchen knife or have to explain what I was hearing or something. I don't know what they are teaching these kids in the schools these days--not to bother asking where the heroin comes from, I guess.

The moral of this story is, you're going to have to sit down and have yourself a conversation with someone about what the definition of "everything" is, because you might not be quite there.

Would the speed of thought be faster than the speed of light?
I have always wondered how fast the speed of the internet at the highest bandwidth relates to the speed of light.

aww quimby, so soon?

What is this thing you speak of -- "sober replay"?
