Not saying my view is correct, just sharing.

No matter who you are, some people are going to like you, and some are going to think you're an idiot (or whatever)  I have more respect for the people who post it for everyone to see and comment on, than I do for people who do so in PM's and Phone Calls, emails etc.  I see no point to being "butthurt" when people point out my imperfections. Everyone has them, so do I.  For me, bellgab is a process of learning to expect and accept criticism, as well as a process of learning to get along with people of diverse attitudes.  Bella-Haven is a thread on bellgab, a forum where it would be only reasonable to expect MORE inspection under the microscope, than in most other forums.  You can call it "negativity", "meanness" or, be more positive about it, and call it things like "humor".  Sometimes, it's the truth..........SO, I have to learn to laugh at myself, and not take myself so seriously.  That's a difficult but positive thing to learn.  Many days, I feel like I don't belong in this thread at all, because I like to go around bellgab, read what the bellgabbers have to say, and sometimes find myself interacting with them.  I like to read the Falkie thread.  I like to post what I really think about a show when I'm listening to it.  If I was so sensitive about how people react to what I say, that I would feel "butthurt" if somebody gives me a hard time .......Then it probably wouldn't be a wise decision for me to be a member of bellgab.  There are far more politically correct forums that I would choose to belong to instead.  Somebody PM'd me about a comment I made earlier.  I'm not a PM kind of person, so I am sort of answering here, for everyone to read.  Take it for what its worth.  If it means nothing to you, then by all means, just discard it.  Meanwhile, tomorrow is Christmas Eve.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day, and a Very Wonderful Christmas!

Bella-Haven is a gentler thread than the others, that's all. We aren't confined here, we all are on the other threads...and enjoy them. You can't deny the negativity has ramped up in recent days (since Art left) and much of it not meant to be humor. Combine that with all the strife IRL--politics, rioting, terror attacks--and it just gets a little too much to handle some days. Guess that's my cue to back away from the computer and turn up some early 70s favorites!

I may not be as confident as you, but I'm the first to laugh at myself. My post wasn't meant to sound huffy...just a bit sad. That's all.
