Making my way back home, to the Haven. It's getting wild out there again, so I bring you this photo of a cow with a blow-dry. Is it in honor of The Don? Why not -- she's very festive.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday evening.

Keep your eyes to the sky, you never know what you'll see

Time for the Saturday post.

Tonight starting at 8PM Central until Midnight Central ( Thats 6 to 10pm Pacific for you guys in Rio Linda ) on http://ksyl.com is: Art Bell: Somewhere in Time when Art returns to 6/28/96 when geologist Jim Berkland talked about all things earthquakes, including an accurate prediction he made on the show.

http://ksyl.com has a live stream listed on their page and they can also be found on Tune-in.
If you are local to NW Louisiana or if the propagation is right, you can hear them on 970AM,
I do not know if the show is in the archive. Jazmunda might have the info on that. However from past info, these may be the "new" classics and may not be in the archive.

For those of you with a bent for nostalgia, from 6pm to 8pm Central, ksyl plays When Radio Was, with old radio shows from the time when "Radio was King!"

And at 10:30PM Eastern (7:30PM Pacific) End of Days Radio LIVE at http://aliendreams.ddns.net and http://endofdaysradio.com/

Alien Dreams now has Weekend overnight programming. Something less intense for those who might be awake and want something to listen to. Zero politics, mind calming music and programs for the insomniacs out there. Ride with Serenity......Into the Night.

Remember "Theres Magic in the Static"
"When you go outside tonight, look to the sky, you never know what you may see"

To me it looks like it could be a Simmental or Charolais.

She almost looks like some weird Science Lab experiment mix between cow and chow chow.  Chow Cow.  Not to be confused with cattle feed Cow Chow

I wandered off, trying to find the rest of the story on the cow, and it turns out there's actually a Reddit thread on floofed-out farm animals. (https://www.reddit.com/r/blowdriedcows).

I'll bet she's a maniac, maniac! on the floor. 👯

My daughter raised a Maine-Anjou heifer she bought in May of her sophomore year as a 6 month old calf. She was in Future Farmers of America (FFA). He had it bred using artificial insemination and showed the heifer throughout her junior year. Several small county shows and "practice shows" and then several major livestock shows including Ft. Worth, Galveston, San Antonio and Houston. Once the calf was born, she showed them as a pair in all of the same shows. An unbelievable amount of time was spent in clipping the air just right for the breed, shampooing them, blow drying them and brushing them. She was at the FFA barn before and after school everyday and at least one weekend a month was spent at a show. Some of the major shows, the animals would be there for 4-5 days. It was definitely a character building experience, and she was sad when she finally sold them at the end of her senior year. She is in all of the pictures I have of her cow and calf or I would post one.

This is a picture of the bull that she used as a sire for her calf.

You guys are just too cool! I love cows, they are just awesome. And the stories and just great pictures. I know nothing about cows, but I sure do enjoy looking. Back in my neck of the woods it was horses and chickens lol. Oh and corn, apples and fun. Thanks for sharing the pics guys  :)

Dyna-X

I was in the market for a used cow. Hopefully with low silage on the moodometer, leatherd seats and powherd steering.
