I used to play it all the time down at the bowling alley.

I also spent a lot of time on the 'BattleFront'

And a littlte in Moon Patrol    , Tempest  , Missile Command  ,   , Defender    , and Asteriods.

Awesome, tempest still to this day I have no idea how to play it. I ruled Ms pacman and galaga. I don't think I spelled galaga right

I love vector graphics but you guys are forgetting the king of vector graphic games: Gravitar

Imagine Asteroids X Lunar Lander but with different planetary systems to conquer, all with varying degrees of planetary gravity, fuel and enemies protecting that fuel...and all in glowing green. This was uber-hard in the arcades as it used an all button control scheme: one button each for directional rotation, a button for thrust, a button for fire and button for shield/tractor beam. However, today I play it in MAME and use a PS3 controller, assigning rotation to the left stick and leaving all else the same. It controls much easier this way.

Of course, nothing looks like an actual vector game but they still look pretty descent in an emulator and there are usually various filters that can be applied to make it look more like actual vector graphics.

BTW, Logan, the tank game you mention was actually called Battlezone and is probably my second favorite vector game. Dual joysticks are essential to steering the tank properly in this game though. It was the first arcade attempt at a 3D environment and, I think, succeeded pretty well. Well, enough for the US Army to be impressed enough to ask Atari to make a customized version for them for military training called the Bradley Trainer.

You're right, my mistake. ;)

Tempest was the first game I remember playing that had a ball instead of a joystick

Had to think about that one for a bit. Definitely the first one I remember using that had a ball.

ya it kinda sounded gay after I typed it lol

Tempest had a knob, not a ball. And don't forget Super Zapper!!!

BattleZone ruled.  Had cool graphics and sounds too.  Moon Patrol was another fave.  Defender was awesome but so hard - I never got good at it.  Tempest would imprint itself on my brain if I played too long, kind of like Tetris does.  All those geometries!

There was a 'cheat' that would allow to "avoid spikes" if you rotated the knob to precisely 19.5 degrees.
But seriously I loved Tempest, unfortunately, it can't really be duplicated (because the controls are different than most of the other games) so don't have it on my 'chipped' standup.

I do still, however, have a working Vectrex system though I've lost the plastic covers so you must play the games in B&W and I never had the 3-D Imager.

QuoteDear Club 19.5 member,

By mutual agreement between Richard and Keith, the Other Side of Midnight program will be moving to another distribution platform shortly.

We'll also be switching to different membership platform software and pay system next month. In order to accomplish this, we will first need to stop the "auto-renew" of your membership monthly charge at PayPal by cancelling the subscription from our Dark Matter Digital Network end.

YOU WILL RECEIVE A NOTICE FROM PAYPAL OF THIS SUBSCRIPTION CANCELLATION, WHEN THIS HAPPENS TOMORROW..

Your membership login will STILL WORK at the DMDN website until May 15th. So while your PayPal account won't be charged in April by DMDN, you will still have access to the archives until the new system is in place.

Then, to RE-JOIN and keep your subscription active and get all the amazing shows and bonuses click here:

Your MITD subscription will not change and not be affected by the change in your OSOM subscription.

I mean we all know hoagie is a hack but his show was bringing in revenue to the network, and unless art does come back to do a once of a week show i don't see mitd sub count getting higher then it currently is.

I wonder if he is going to keep the same timeslot or move it up to compete with MITD.

I guess he didn't have a non-compete.

It depends how much problems he has with Art, its safe to say that keith is under Arts thumb, i do see hoagie dropping the paranormal angle he has been half assing lately.

Pretty much, i wouldn't be surprised if hoagie did bitch for Heather's time slot and Keith said no, since we all know hoagies ego is big enough to demand something like that.

I do blame trostol for this tho, he is the harbinger of death for these shows lol.
