Deming is considered one of the “10 worst places” to live in New Mexico due to drug cartels, gangs, unemployment, poverty and crime.

And not just one of the 10 worst places:

...but the honoured holder of the Number One "worst place to live slot."  Imagine the sense of pride Hoagland must feel living there.  :P

All joking aside, I almost (but not quite) feel bad that Hoagland is forced to live in such a hole; I cannot believe for a second that he would live there were any other option open to him.

As far as Islamic Jihad blowing up his trailer via gas pipeline, while the visual is hilarious, I am sceptical they would pick a jerkwater town like Deming for a target (though anything is possible when you are dealing with nutters).

when was the last time he had a real new gust on?

Between Hoagland's crap 3AM-5AM Eastern Time programming slot and his appalling lack of manners (e.g. interrupting people every four seconds), I am surprised anyone at all is willing to appear on his show at this point.

Cops catch 'Islamic refugee' at U.S. border with gas-pipeline plans
FBI investigates Mideastern woman apprehended in New Mexico

Pretty damn scary.  Unfortunately no action can be taken to prevent this kind of thing as it would be instantly condemned as racist and xenophobic.  Remember 'No religion is responsible for terrorism' (Obama) and 'Crossing the border is an act of love' (Jeb Bush), etc., etc.

Actually I've always suspected they'd pick a more off-the-radar, small- to mid-sized target.  For one, there'd be less security to worry about and two, it would maybe have even greater impact psychologically since no where would feel safe.

Hoagie'd be ok ... you know he's got some kind of escape pod in his attic.  It's torsion field variances are probably what messes up his skype.

All this talk of Hoagland and Deming has now got me wondering if he might have become a local celebrity* in Deming the way Art Bell is in Pahrump.  :D

It would be cool if a Bellgabber passing through Deming were to ask a half-dozen of the locals if they had ever heard of, "a guy named Richard Hoagland," just to see what the reaction would be.  :)

*Though the more I learn about Deming, the more I am convinced it is the sort of town where anyone living there would want to keep their head down and not call attention to themselves.   :(

QuoteWhen you’re looking at science and data, Deming is the worst place you can live in New Mexico.

It's in the data.

But Shay's gone and Logan's still AWOL.

Logan needs to complete his secret mission and Shay is afraid that I'll sacrifice him so he is hiding. But I do miss both them!

Braaps to my thread! The subject tonight sucks so shit post away

Why do they always blame their screw ups on technology?  I'm sure it's technology "sometimes", but not all/most of the time. My guess would be human error most of the time.
