I was just giving you a hard time, but actually that's an interesting insider's story, even without the arcologies.  I'd like to know more about how these budgeting decisions are made etc.

I worked for Rockwell at the time. I was in charge of Space Shuttle Flight Software Production and Verification. We compiled all of the flight software for every mission and did performance testing. We created all the products for the Mission Control Center and Shuttle Simulators (Both Primary and Backup Flight systems).

2 days before launch I had to sign a piece of paper that said all 350 people that worked or me followed every procedure during the previous 2 years and that there were no known errors or constraints to launch. I turned grey pretty early in my career.
