see....'science of consciousness'. That really means 'psychic'. ...

Really?  If that's what he's saying, it's a stretch.

If you want to study consciousness, study the pituitary while listening   to pulsed 1.5 hz tones through headphones.

I thought it was the pineal gland?

Still am. I find his tone insulting....he's an apologist for psychic experiences and yet he's had tons of them. It's like he needs to appeal to the scientific mind set for permission.

Fair enough, but I want to reproduce this stuff. I actually want to believe. I want proof. I want everyone on earth to be able to benefit from their inherent psychic powers to whatever degree they can. But after decades of it, I still don't have that, even from the most prominent psychics. Why? Let's figure out a way to prove this beyond a doubt and make a metric ass load of cash along the way.

RoseGirl

see....'conscious attention deployment'.....um...like...what would be a more simple word????

I don't think they're gifts. I think they're latent abilities that everybody have; some have either developed them with practice and some are born with them already evident. What do you think?
Well put.  I agree FBB

Beware, there will be things you can't un-hear.

I love that Richard had enough humor to make fun of his own ego there.

Because you can't find a fish in a desert. Two different things. The physical world is only a very very small part of reality. Finally, science is starting to accept that....but they are also trying to redefine the language so it sounds like they are 'discovering' it. Same old arrogance...it's an old story, isn't it?

yes true. We all can do these things...every last one of us. Some people have different 'talents' but all the potential is there. Some people are too afraid and you can't develop this when there is fear.
That... My dear RoseGirl, IS the key.

As the 'Bene Gesserit' say:  "Fear is the mind-killer. "

oh yes...totally. And just listen to how afraid the 'scientific' world is of these things? Just listen to the apologizing in his voice.

Perhaps but there are also old stories of mysticism showing arrogance towards science.

Well, I actually agree with that. I think there is a high probability that we live in a simulated universe and maybe all paranormal and religious phenomena are real and were programmed into whatever it is that we live in. I'm open to that.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simulation_hypothesis

But what I want is proof of these phenomena. I haven't been given it.
