Do you think he meant Richard Spence?

I wish he would have repeated it.  I hope to be awake early to listen tomorrow morning.

Hoagie is taking his questions from Facebook.  He should be taking them only from bellgab IMO.

he likes to give facebook free publicity several times per show.

Looks like Mike Spence is a Brittish Race car driver.  How fun lol   He must have meant Richard

A friend of mine introduced me to Dianetics in the mid '80's. I could see it was a scam back then. I can see why a lot of peeps got pulled in though. The book was written in a manner that made you want to check it out, but there was an underlying feeling (for me) of somethings' not quite right here.

Me too. Same time frame. There was also another book that had a blue cover.  Self-analyses maybe? Anyway.... It had a bunch of tests an questionnaires in it.  I glanced through it and gave it back.

He was a guest on the show. I didn't not enjoy listening to him.

oh ya it's a total cult but I do keep an eye out for the crazy "religions" to meet girls

I had a close call or two with what I call a "cult lite".  One seemed totally chill for the first couple meetings, kind of a modern non-denominational kinda deal, but then on like the third visit they all got glazed eyes and started asking me to come play volleyball with them.

I actually bought the book in the 80s and was fairly into all the psychoanalysis stuff (I was young and hadn't read any Freud yet) but when I got to the SciFi metaphysics of it is when I said, "Check, please!"  ::)

Starts with volleyball, ends with sex magic and cleaning toilets.
