I love New Mexico. I used to get to Albuquerque on occasion and always enjoyed it. Of course, Santa Fe is very nice but just a little on the weird side and quite pricey.

Oh Yeah! We'll have to see about getting seats near one of the turns. That gives the blood spray a little more momentum and spread.

Really great bike trail about 1 hour east of CDA. Gentle slope all the way down and then you ride a shuttle bus back to the top to do it all again. CDA itself has a pretty amazing bike trail.

Thing I don't like about Santa Fe, in the old area where most want to stay, is on foot the lack of ease to buy booze and beer. No convenience stores, so have to drive. Fine but everything else is a great walking around area so why not have some stories- even if you need to make them look authentic? And in winter snow and on vacation I would've liked to be able to easily buy a bottle or a case and bring back to the rental house on foot. Whereas, oddly, the rest of New Mexico is a plethora of them....just gassing up on a highway you are offered at counter the ability to buy, for I guess those with limited funds, a small one-shot bottle of cheap vodka for a buck! (And once you leave and get back on the highway you see signs about the numbers of deaths on the roads etc.) A bizarre state. Such beauty and then, like lots of desert states, such crap. (More forested States can at least hide the junkyards and trailers gone to seed behind the trees.) Was NOT impressed with Roswell either.....the mountains, Indian ruins, etc yes!! Very nice. SF, not so much, though for the inclined (not to be sexist) lots of shopping available and that staircase was interesting and very cool.

ps: the WORST, and I mean worst, smell I have ever smelled was in a public restroom in Albuquerque- oddly near a touristy area where 'locals' were selling stuff and I think drinking profits. And I think near some kind of Snake place as I recall. I don't what happened in there. I don't want to know. But it was worse than a dead cow or deer carcass after some time in the heat. The guy leaving looked like a walking dead and I puked into my throat (no food in me, luckily) and left before entering. Nasty stuff.

Lived in Victor, Idaho in 1997 before I ran for Hawai'i to escape a second winter. Victor is over the pass from Jackson,WY. I gave my library to the local library. had several hundred books of rather ecclectic, esoteric nature. Their library had a 1950ish set of Britanicas, I gave them my set of late 70's Britanica and set of Annal's of America. Being mostly a Mormon area I am not sure if they had a book sale or book burning.
