Heh. Decent Stig costume.

QuoteSomeone dressed as Top Gear’s tame racing driver caused scenes in London today by posing on top of a moving tank, as it took to the streets of Central London.

At the time of writing, the petition, set up by political blogger Guido Fawkes, is just over 8,000 signatures short of the one million mark.

It comes after Clarkson reportedly alleged that he’d been sacked, and told his charity gala audience that Top Gear used to be great, but ‘bosses had f***** it up’.

The BBC is refusing to confirm rumours that Clarkson has been sacked, saying BBC Scotland head Ken MacQuarrie is considering the evidence and a verdict will be reported next week.

The 'Talent' always thinks that it is better than the crew.  They can act like real shits.  "You wouldn't have a job if it weren't for me!"

The irony about 'the talent' in this case is that I know someone who grew up in the same district as Clarkson; and I was told that if there was a 'fracas' about to kick off, Clarkson would run away!

I really want to see the Stig drive a tank around the track. Along with the whole gang back on the show pronto, and think it would be sad if this is indeed the end of Top Gear.

In case you were all wondering, Clarkson has support from the D-O-double-G.

Quote“The BBC got to be crazy to even think about firing Jeremy Clarkson,’ Snoop insisted to The Sun.

‘He isn’t part of Top Gear â€" he IS Top Gear. If they even think about firing him, Britain needs to boycott the BBC until he is reinstated.

Hmmm, but rappers aren't noted for their high thinking skills are they?
Ouch. I'd recommend checking out KRS-ONE or Busdriver to refute that.

Anyhoo, I got a chuckle out of the notion.  :)

what about Braintax? he's an intelligent hip hop artist from the same place as your pudding

If the BBC fires Jezza and him, may, and Hammond go to Netflix. I might have no real reason to keep direct tv when I can get a service like sling TV on the Xbox one.

I don't think the BBC and satellite/cable providers understand just how big of a fan base that show has. Could have huge repercussions.

QuoteLiterary elites love to rep Shakespeare’s vocabulary: across his entire corpus, he uses 28,829 words, suggesting he knew over 100,000 words and arguably had the largest vocabulary, ever.

I decided to compare this data point against the most famous artists in hip hop. I used each artist’s first 35,000 lyrics. That way, prolific artists, such as Jay-Z, could be compared to newer artists, such as Drake.

According to the telegraph, Clarkson will be fired.

Yeah but how many use only 17th century English.;)

DOOM and Keith in particular are great lyricists.

As for Clarkson, no one in my house watches the TV, I still pay a TV license fee though, whats up with that?  I don't think he represents what the BBC should be about - aside from other things, he's perhaps just too big for them.

Daily Mail also says "fired." But some sources say "contract will not be renewed." Which to me is a little different (and more passive-aggressive) than firing someone.

2 hours ago, Clarkson posted...

(facking BBcode/embeds...)

Guess we'll see.

Well, thats the end of an era then... according to the Guardian.

Has there been any mention of criminal charges due to the alleged assault? Does anyone care?

There it is...  :'(

Go fuck yourself.

I love Top Gear and the whole reason I watched the show was for Clarkson.  it was the interaction between the 3 that I liked.
It's like breaking up Kirk, Spock & McCoy.
I won't be watching it without him.
Nothing I've read so far has said WHY he punched out & then ranted at the producer.
The BBC hasn't said it.
I've been reading their website and they've been highlighting Clarkson's past incidents.

I never heard of Top Gear or Mr. Clarkson.  That said, what possible excuse could he have for punching the producer?

When I was a retail manager, I had an appointment set up for physical therapy. My relief showed up an hour and a half late causing me to miss my appointment. He told me he had " missed the streetcar". I had checked and there was no delay on the line and told him that he was supposed to be at work on time. He threw the store keys at my head and cut it open. MY boss walked in and fired him on the spot.
Who knows why Clarkson punched the guy ?
There may have been some provocation for it or it may have been a long simmering feud.
You should check out the show.
The episodes are great fun to watch and if you're into cars, you get to see cars most people could never afford to own.

None. There's a possibility the police will get involved. Hence why the producer is saying nothing. I like Topgear. I was at school with James May, and I feel for him and Hammond.

If Clarkson had got away with this it would be open season on underlings who would feel that the school bully is untouchable.

Ok so, I respect what you're saying but I really feel like that's such a drastic position to take.

Either way it's pointless.....today is a sad day

Watch the video of May. Sure sounds like he & Hammond are bailing too.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/top-gear/11493920/Clarksons-departure-gives-Top-Gear-the-chance-to-reinvent-itself.html

Yeah, no way they come back unless the BBC gives them profit percentages or some insane amount of money. Even then I don't think they would

From the video, it sounds like May is a bit upset with the BBC. I'd be disappointed if the three don't stick together through this mess.

The problem is, the insane amount of money is contingent on ratings. The ratings plunge was brutally apparent the first week Top Gear was pulled - something like 4 million people disappeared. May knows, as I'm sure Hammond does, that the 3 of them are what made the show.

I just hope none of the gents signed no-compete clauses...  :D

Ken MacQuarrie's investigation findings:  http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/investigation-summary.pdf

It took him a week of investigating to write that up?

Absurd.

It took them a week to clear things with their lawyers to make sure Clarkson can't take them to court.

To be fair, that's a summary page. Still, this reeks of background-lawyering. We all knew they had it in for Clarkson. He made it significantly easier by physically harming someone.

Yup, I agree he did something dumb. He also admitted it and tried to make amends.

He punched Piers years ago, didn't get fired then?

How many other fracas have happened on the sets of BBC shows, I guarantee this is not the first one and it won't be the last.
