How many other fracas have happened on the sets of BBC shows, I guarantee this is not the first one and it won't be the last.

Heck thry allowed and promoted a pedophile for decades and this gets Clarkson fired? Frankly I think it was his hilarious, but non-politically correct jokes and global warming jokes, and this was just the 'reason.' My favorote BBC moment was when black cabbie as Apple and business expert guest! Im on phone but im sure it is still on youtube. Priceless comedy and the poor guy does a decent job trying to make BBC presenters look ok. Classic.

I find it quite odd that the incident happened on the 4th, and the guy who got hit didn't say anything... but the news of what happened came from Jeremy Clarkson himself on the 9th. I'm wondering what the other guys said to him, and if the delay was a result of the guy trying to find a lawyer thinking he could get a hell of a pay day out of a busted lip.

BBC creative director Alan Yentob has said he would not rule out Jeremy Clarkson making a return to the BBC in the future.

"Of course I wouldn't rule that out, but that's not for now," he told the BBC's Newsnight.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jeremy does a stint of something perceived as good will, charity work, what have you. Has a public amends with the producer on a show not on the BBC then in six months announces top gear is coming back.

That didn't take long. I'm guessing this is a way of them saying if our ratings suck without the show we will consider bringing him back under certain conditions. I just hope they don't make the show like the American version which sucked almost as much as certain show hosted by a guy named Dave.

I love Top Gear and the whole reason I watched the show was for Clarkson.  it was the interaction between the 3 that I liked.
It's like breaking up Kirk, Spock & McCoy.
I won't be watching it without him.
Nothing I've read so far has said WHY he punched out & then ranted at the producer.
The BBC hasn't said it.
I've been reading their website and they've been highlighting Clarkson's past incidents.

Got rid of my TV years ago but TG is/was the only current show I'll watch.  It's sad the way it's ended. No doubt Clarkson did a dumb thing but the BBC has let its hosts get away with far worse.  Hopefully the 3 of them do a new show soon...

No; they couldn't have a situation whereby a member of staff can be punched by a presenter (or any other person in their employ) and serve no sanction for it. How would YOU feel if you were punched and abused in your line of work and the perpetrator wasn't dealt with? I accept the producer hasn't lodged a complaint, but his employer has a duty of care.

Good news if you’re a ticket-holder for Top Gear Live: it has today been confirmed that the 2015 world tour will go ahead, renamed Clarkson, Hammond and May Live.

BBC Worldwide has announced that, in the best interests of those who have already purchased tickets, the live arena show will go on with its original three presenters, but without the Top Gear name or BBC branding.

In other words "we hate Clarkson but won't pass up another opportunity to make money off of him."

Or their partner, Brand Events, was threatening some sort of action.

Not that Art did anything to warrant it but the TG situation reminds of how iHateMedia, Inc, .Norry, etc still profits off Art's stuff and name. BBC-American still showing TG reruns etc. If you fire someone, or think his actions were horrible, than don't make money off him afterwards or play to audiences maybe not familiar with the so-called "scandal".

The BBC (in the UK) doesn't have ad breaks, this will have them all over.  If it's successful it will encourage more from Amazon. But if not...I have no axe to grind, I love TG, I was at school with James May, and he's what you see on telly. I do wish em well.

Wow. I love Clarkson and the gang but that seems, to me, a lot of money. But I'm not a zillionaire or a company trying to do everything for everyone. I hope, since it is streaming the the PC-gloves come off Clarkson and we get a lot more jokes and comments about the BBC, Krauts, Pakis, Slopes, Frogs, Gypsies Wogs, Yanks, Tree-huggers, caravan owners, the government, and everybody else.
