IF the network ever comes to its senses and fires the Snooreminator, if they can't bring back Art, I'd love George Knapp to host the program.

" I'm the C2C Newt and I just saved hundreds of brain cells by NOT subscribing to Snoorge Snoory's multiple mind draining programs ! "

Oh, did I mention that George Noory Sucks ?

I'd love to see knapp take noozys place and not by accident but by something similar to a mutiny! :- : :P

Knapp will host Sunday night......he's having David Paulides back to discuss Bigfoot and missing persons.   I will DEFINITELY be listening!!!!

I haven't listened to Knapp very much, but I was disappointed by his handling of Ketchum (the Bigfoot DNA lady). An investigative reporter with his experience and skill should have been able to contradict or at least closely question a lot of what she was saying. She kept stating everything as though they were facts like the sky is blue or that we breathe oxygen. In fact, her manner was almost combative in how she presented herself, and Knapp could have matched that, but didn't.

I suppose it's because he's not a scientist or can only do so much research. despite that I'm disappointed that he has bought into her so much. People on this board have easily shown that she is a complete fraud, in business and in science.

I still wish that Knapp would host more than he does. PremRat could really do with dangling a few more cheques in front of him, I think he could be a good solid weekend host. He would be maybe a bit more investigative/dry than Art but definitely a lot less stupid/insipid as Wells and Nooree and not as smarmy as Punnett.

He's pretty great, especially when compared with the crowd of bozos C2C has assembled.

Allow me to join the chorus.  The last Knapp/Paulides show was one of the best I've heard in ages.

I stayed up to hear the entire show. Pretty good Imo. I'm actualy thinking about getting the guys book about the west. I live close to the central WA "cluster" spot. I have family that lives dead center in the spot in the SE of WA. I might start carrying something bigger than a .22 when I go camping now. :-\

I was thinking a little bit about this last night along the lines of:
If Yosemite has received roughly 70 million visitors in the last 20 years and 25 of them have disappeared (including rock climbers and back country hikers), is that a good thing or a bad thing?
I remember some river in Oregon where someone fell in while taking a picture and the body was missing for a few months. Probably an accident, but some people look at this as the swift arm of a stealthy bigfoot.

beyondbeleef

Not sure about the veracity of Paulides & the Bigfoot snatching theory but Knapp is on point

He's read the book, really listens to the guest and the listeners. He should be on more often

I believe you are right... considering the numbers there have been very few people go missing under strange circumstances (how many people disappear from NYC under odd circumstances.)  Having said that, it is fun to suspend my analytic mind for a few hours during the Knapp interview.  Is the suspension of disbelief not what Coast was founded on?  Think Art talking about the Masons and Illuminati, aliens and witches.  A good host and a good guest (Knapp and Paulides are such a combination) make me want to listen and allow my imagination to wander for a few hours.

Listening to stories like the climber who was there one minute and gone the next (I would suspect that if you fall climbing you leave a body directly under your present location and some blood evidence that you were there) and a few other stories really allows you to join that reality for while. Yeah- it probably is not Bigfoot, aliens, inter-dimensional beings nor even robots as the three year old suggested- but it really is classic Coast: if only you can suspend your disbelief and go on that journey for a few hours.  Last night was the best I have heard in months.  I was not being asked to suspend my belief in Cancer nor to believe that Nazis built moon bases in the 1930s.  It really was what coast once was- an intelligent, informed interviewer asking us to take a ride.  The only question is whether you are willing to get in or you want to stand on the sidewalk.  With an idiot like Noory at the wheel I would just as soon stay out of the fiery crash that is sure to come as he mangles the English language while travelling at 90 MPH refusing a map no matter how lost he gets (how else do you describe the lack of preparation night after night? )  Last night I felt safe taking the ride with a driver in control and was happy to have done so.

The BEST call I've heard in ages was when some lady called last night and talked about how nature might be angry about mankind's technology.  She claimed that nature was stealing people in revenge for mankind's abuses of the planet.  I laughed while listening to her as I thought about what kind of question knapp would throw at him.  By the way, I love how Knapp plays middle man with the callers and basically translates the callers babbling into a suitable question for his guests...
ANYWAY, Knapp rephrases appropriately by asking Paulides if he has any comment in regards to what this lunatic was talking about and Paulides responds with a resounding "NO"

almost fell out of bed... I knew something funny was coming while listening to the caller and Paulides "NO" was so comedically timed and appropriate it killed me.

Well said!  You are absolutely correct.  I miss the daily dose of "an intelligent, informed interviewer asking us to take a ride" that we got every night with Art Bell.  Now we are down to just a couple of times (non-Noory times) each month.  Way too much Turmeric in our radio diet these days.

Is there a download or stream of last night's show?  I tried to stay awake, but I feel asleep in the first hour.

Cloud43

I must agree, last night was the first time in a long time that I was actually into the show. It was a great interview.

Unfortunately I think Norry will end up getting the credit for a great show since its 'his show' and Knapp shares the same name too.  I hope I am wrong though.

Also, this is probably the first time that I've seriously considered purchasing the book of a guest on the show.

I think thats when I decided I wanted to read his book. Unlike your average coast guest, he didnt just make up some rambleing answer to a  bull shit question by a kook.

mombird3

I agree thatit was a very good show. Knapp knows how to ask questions and he is always prepared.

Sorry, this is a little off-topic but does anyone use the Iphone app 5-0 Radio to listen to "Fine Art: The Essential Art Bell"?

Exactly. What also impressed me is that, rather than take the guest's word that the parks service is withholding information, Knapp filed a FOIA request on his own and was also denied the info. I simply cannot see Georgie Dumbshits even thinking about doing something like that.

Yet another great show with the one regular host who can formulate a coherent question and conduct a professional interview. John tries to but his questions always turn into some rambling bullshit rant peppered with a dozen half-questions that often leave the guests bewildered & overwhelmed.

I thought it was a fun show too, that was just my thoughts after the show was over.

Knapp is an investigative journalist doing talk radio. It is a great combination. I don't think he would be able to maintain that level of quality if he were a main host for the fact that he educates himself on what is being discussed. Then again, he is a recognized and respected journalist as his main job, he very well could just minus being able to read all the books being pushed. I would hire him a team that helps do the research. It could be done.

I DO know he would be 100x better than snoory.

beyondbeleef

Are you having problems! I use TuneIn & it works fine so I can fall asleep to Art every night :D the stream link above (AB Stream) can also work

HorrorRetro

I listened to the show last night, and it was excellent.  Even my husband, who gave up on C2C years ago, got into this show.

Meanandnasty

Therein lies the problem.  For an excellent show, it is just too much for any one host to handle.  If he would read the books, or hire a reader to read the books for him, or to him, or  at him, or even listen to an unabridged audio there might be some continuity of excellent.  We now have McCoasttoCoast without mayo.  It is Coast on the fly, and the fly is not always zipped properly.

NowhereInTime

I am a 43 year old man living downtown in a decent sized CT city.  I haven't had the creeps after listening to Knapp & Paulides since maybe the Bugs/Bigfoot shooting story from many years back. (Maybe Smiley Face killer until it was somewhat debunked.)  Here I am on the 8th floor of my building at 4 in the morning wondering what was moving in the shadow?  What was that sound?  Job well done by Mssrs. Knapp & Paulides.

LOL, we're the same age, and I had the same creeps in our neat little neighborhood.  ;D

KNAPP IS WONDERFUL!  PERIOD.

I'm still disappointed by Knapp's eagerness to accept the squatchy DNA "research" as slam dunk scientific proof.  let me read the "paper" for FREE. last time I checked it was $30 to read their research. horseshit
