Perhaps but televangelists represent about 0.000001% of people who identify as Christian.  Making broad generalizations isn't something you engage in when you're interested in deep thought and getting to the "truth".  You make broad generalizations when you want to dismiss something out of hand.

I really try to not respond to you Puddy, because I know you just love to troll me.  But, like always, did you not read my posts at all?   I have absolutely 100% come to the realization (as I said!!) that arguing with any of these people is completely worthless.    Even that last image Atheism Checkmate's quote makes the argument against a Christian god perfectly, but I don't even think that will work.  They really are blind.  I just have to get out of the habit of trying to argue with them.

I broadly agree with that. My issue with all religion is the way it's used to subjegate, oppress, ostracise and used as a weapon by it's 'leaders' on those it says it stands up for. Having said that; due to a recent family bereavement, I have had cause to be in close contact and advice from the local vicar. I'm not religious; but the funeral wasn't for my wishes. The vicar as a person is truly lovely. She had endless time for us when we simply wanted to say nothing of any consequence. I have no doubt she is naturally a kind and considerate woman- she admitted her parents are athiests!

I have no truck with the zealots and the scum bag evangelists who just rip off the vulnerable.
