Sleepy Baseball Fan Sues for $10 Million

Can you believe this? I hope he loses and has to pay the costs for all parties involved. What a waste of time.

A New York Yankees fan is hoping that a mid-game nap could net him $10 million.

Andrew Rector, 26, fell asleep during the April 13 game between the Yankees and the rival Boston Red Sox. It was nationally televised on ESPN, and Rector was noticed by cameras and talked about by commentators John Kruk and Dan Shulman.

Video of Rector â€" titled "Tired fan naps in the stands" â€" was then published to MLB.com and YouTube. People on the Internet made fun of Rector (shocking, right?) and now he's filed a defamation lawsuit against the Yankees, MLB, ESPN, Kruk and Shulman. Rector is seeking $10 million in damages after the "unending verbal crusade."

I'm suing Brasil for losing 7-1 to Germany and losing the £10 million I didn't win after the bet I didn't place on them winning. Maybe if the oaf hadn't overdone the doughnuts before the game he wouldn't need to nap?

Goodness knows with the state of juries and the legal system these days but I think this lawsuit will get throw out (hopefully.) The back of your ticket usually has a lot of legal statements about indemnifying them for injuries resulting from the game- might not that include these "emotional" injuries? I wonder if his shyster will also try to go after all the posters in the "comments" section of articles about his silly lawsuit and his girth? Some are quite funny and insulting.
