Odd Disappearances

The National Park disappearances is one of the most baffling stories to be mentioned on C2C. I wonder if its been mentioned by mainstream media at any point. Based on some of the clues we have missing shoes and clothes from the victims. Something even more bizarre is that they are found at places much farther from where they originally disappeared at. Such as mountain peaks or cliffs. What could be the cause of these odd occurrences?

You must be a closet Noory-holic. Sounds like something he would say at a lame attempt at humor.

How many National Parks have disappeared? Is it logging? Housing? Mineral extraction? Failure to pay their membership fees? Failure to pay protection money to the mob, and been found with concrete boots at the bottom of the San Andreas Fault?

Wow do you need to have your hand held that much to explain that its people disappearing from National Parks and not National Parks that are disappearing? Or are you trying to be like a general run of the mill smart ass here?

I do apologise...I hadn't realised you were the adjudicator of what did and didn't constitute gentle teasing.. I'll take your comments on board and learn from them...truly, I'm contrite.

People only disappear in national parks? Or they have a disproportionate amount of people disappearing in relation to non national parks? Damn.

Before jumping to paranormal conclusions I would guess that National Parks (or secluded areas in general) would be a good place for serial killers, rapists or ne'er-do-wells to find their victims without pesky onlookers.

Or... nature doesn't care about your appointment next Tuesday. Once you step out of your "safe" environment, all bets are off. A wrong step, a spider bite, a less than friendly animal and it may well be the last time your life passes in front of your eyes.

Well that didn't sound like gentle teasing. And we've already had one bonehead on here that I've had to contend with. Thought you might be trying to follow in his footsteps. Anyway, I guess you must of not heard George Knapp's interviews with David Paulides the man who has investigated these disappearances. These are all true cases and should be taken seriously. But if you mention anything about it, what happens? You get thought of as the crazy one. Jeez! You would think none of us listen to C2C!

I don't listen to PremRad. So no, I didn't hear the interview. I did read the thread about it several months ago. There was some conjecture about bigfoot being the culprit. I doubt that. considering the number of disappearances within communities, I am not surprised people go missing from remote areas.

I don't. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't, as I'm in the UK. Next question?

Because I love the social intercourse and not entirely platonic interaction between some favoured and sexually appealing individuals on here. I'm a curious voyeur.

Truth be told; I got to this site after accidentally coming across Expats bog while looking for something else, which I can't remember now.

Does bog mean the same thing in the UK as it does in Oz? (#6 - http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=bog)

That too. I have known 2 people in my lifetime who have met their demise in remote locations. One from a wrong step and another from drug induced stupidity. I guess you could say that it was aliens or bigfoot but sometimes the most logical explanation wins.

He he...Freudian slip. It should of course have been; online personal diary for self and public consumption.

Bog does mean the same in Oz as it does in the UK.

I've seen news and movies (Grizzly Man) about people that try to "commune with nature" by being up close to it, thinking bears are their friends or climbing into lion cages and thinking lions are their friends.
Maybe these people are trying to commune with nature in some way, undressing and then heading into the wilderness.

Someone please explain this to Jimmy Church.

We are a smartalecky bunch, but I can feel your butthurt.

What's interesting to me is the way the parks always try to cover these things up.  I wonder if there's more to it than just being "bad for business."   It's going to take a lot more than just David Paulides to crack that one.

I know there is actually a considerable amount of crime and drug use at the parks because of the amount of workers they bring in to the park. They get things like "interns" from Taiwan and have them work at all the resorts and hotels at places like Yosemite, Grand Canyon, and Yellowstone.
