Yeah, he was pretty good in that.

I wasn't really a fan until Fight Club. Now I can tolerate him. Funny, he's going through a divorce with Jolie and she's accusing him of child abuse and yet:

You hit the nail on the head.  He is much better in comedic roles than serious parts.  I did see the trailer of Allied though and it seemed like he was doing somewhat better in that role.

Yeah, he was pretty good in that.

He was excellent in Fury as well. I`ve always liked Brad Pitt as an actor. I know C21 thinks he`s a bit "wooden" and I can understand that perception. However, I think Pitt is a tremendously cerebral actor who is careful not to overact. He has a really nice presence on the big screen. In many ways, he just reminds me of Robert Mitchum who also had that screen presence. You just want to sit back and watch him.

On another note, if Pitt actually did have an affair with his co-star, Marion Cotillard, as it is alleged by his long-time wife, Angie Jolie, it`s nearly impossible to blame him! She is positively breath-taking in this film -- in more ways than one. Pitt and Cotillard definitely had some serious chemistry going.

I don`t often get choked-up at the movies, but today I damn near broke down and sobbed. Yes, its THAT good!

I knew Bob Mitchum and let me tell you, Brad Pitt is no Bob Mitchum.

Well, no one will ever be Mitchum, but I see Pitt as a similarly talented actor who has that "look" and is a thinking man`s actor.

When I look at Brad Pitt, I see no thinking man with all due respect.  I see a bit of an airhead putz who managed to get lucky due to his looks.  I guess we will simply have to agree to disagree on the subject.  I am willing to modify my opinion though should he give a good performance in Allied.  I agree that from the trailer that I watched, Cotillard and Pitt have chemistry.

By the way, I didn't know Bob Mitchum but Lloyd Bentsen's line came to mind when I read that comment of yours.

This reboot of M.A.S.K. shows fantastic potential, but I can totally see the CGI.

Yeah, right or wrong, I view Pitt in a similar way.  Sorry, FTF.  Kind of similar to this guy, only with a little better acting skill. ;)

Right up there with "Stand up, Chuck!" Biden.

HONORABLE MENTION: I've never been real impressed with this guy's work, but this interview is legit. Recommended.

Two recent discoveries:

I think I heard it mentioned here before but I got totally absorbed in the first season of Stranger Things. The best way I can describe it without giving too much away is to have you imagine if Twin Peaks was made by Spielberg instead of Lynch. It's a gateway to an alternate reality where nightmares and the real world meet. They did a great job casting this with real looking people, the kind of people I could've been in school with. Great soundtrack full of 80s music and the theme sounds like Tangerine Dream, though I know that it's not. This is the second thing I've seen recently (I can't remember what the other was right now though) with soundtrack music that sounds like Tangerine Dream; which leads me to wonder why they aren't attempting a comeback?

The third season of Black Mirror is out. With all the election hoopla I missed this. I've only seen the first episode (Nosedive) but, having seen every episode prior to this, I can unequivocally say that Brooker is a genius. If you want to see excellent cautionary tales about our immediate future this is it, baby!  ;)

1) Stranger Things hit so many good notes. Hope they're able to retain some of the magic with the second series.

2) With Edgar Froese's death last year, I feel that Tangerine Dream is essentially done. I think that despite what the remaining members have stated since his death. Sad.

Oh, sorry. I either did realize or had forgotten that. That's too bad. Their sound is really making a comeback these days.

Thanks for keeping a lid on the spoilers ... This is the first SW flick I've been interested in seeing for fifteen years, gonna check it out once the lines taper off a bit.

I watched Florence Foster Jenkins last night. Pretty dang good movie. Merrill streep was great so was Hugh grant. The guy who played piano was freakin incredible, he could win a supporting actor award.

Is that the one where Hans Solo dies? Oops, *spoiler alert*

Jackstar

Every man dies. Not every man truly lives whores out his marginal talent.

Lol I haven't seen it, but that's exactly my reaction to friggin Interstellar.  For months I heard how amazing it was and then I finally saw it *in the theater for the full effect* ... and ugh just totally excruciating to sit through not to mention all the plot holes and technical fails and painful dialogue and dreary story and ..... ugh.  Maybe I'll wait for Arrival to hit netflix.

if I see a good movie I don't have an issue renting it on dvd at a later date. Interstellar was a let down on the big screen but not a bad rental. Gravity might have been the best I've ever seen in 3d and big screen but also horrible on dvd. Arrival isnt worth renting.

On the recommendation from a friend:

Evil Roy Slade (1972)

It was OK. TV movie made two years before Blazing Saddles and not quite as funny, but not bad. Lots of TV star power in it.
