Jesus.  Stories like this one make me want to decriminalize drugs..... "throwing grenades into a baby's face"... that's the war on drugs?

"Toddler burned, critically hurt by flash grenade during drug raid at Georgia home"

"the flash grenade, which makes a loud noise and bright flash to distract people during raids, landed in the boy's playpen and went off near his face."

I agree. I cannot for the life of me see why they'd use stun grenades without knowing who was there...Reckless decision.

MV/Liberace!

drugs are dangerous, so we need to burn up your baby's face to prevent their use.

btw... what's up with your old account?

Blindly tossing grenades around just for a drug raid is crazy.  But, this happens every day.

I hate seeing little babies on TV screaming in the middle of the night as 15 automatic weapon toting storm troopers tear a house apart to find an ounce of moldy pot.  Children are so impressionable and sensitive.  Stuff like this leads to lifelong trauma.

The scars on his face will be a constant reminder to him why he hates the police.   Hopefully he doesn't have his own "day of retribution" in the future.   Dumbass cops.  The whole militarization of our police forces has gone insane.   They don't even need to enter the damned house, cut off the septic/sewer and water supply, the drugs will go no where and then the clowns come out with their hands up, then you've got 'em.   Oh wait, what was that you mentioned about killing kids at Waco?

Another thing that *really* bugged me was the illegal militarized searches house to house in Watertown, MA when they were looking for that terrorist kid.

What the sheriff said about his team's actions is infuriating.

Habersham County Sheriff Joey Terrell says this is exactly how he wants his raiders to perform, and has no qualms about performing identical raids on residents in his county in the future.

“The door that we entered was the door that we bought dope out of â€" that’s why entered at that door,” Terrell said. “Our team went by the book. Given the same scenario, we’ll do the same thing again. I stand behind what our team did.”

He stands behind burning an innocent baby and fucking him up for life.  >:(

I'd have to do a double take if one of these cockholes ever stepped up and said 'we fucked up'.

Went by the book?

So then throwing  a grenade into a baby's face is accepted police doctrine.

Nice to know.

What in fact WAS the drug under investigation here?

EDIT: Methamphetamine. Not so very surprising. A house full of go-vets can cause a great deal of trouble for any team of troopers.

And it is absolutely not unheard of, for people involved in the drug trade, to use children as a cover for their activities. I am not saying that happened here, and it doesn't excuse the violence regardless, but I certainly comprehend now, how this incident could have unfolded, and I am well able to parse the Sherrif's comments without imagining him to be some kind of baby-eating ghoul.

Mmm, baby... wait, where was I?

Now, if I were to just see pictures of the faces of those involved, I can give you a better analysis... hey, did any of you ever see that show, Lie To Me? Great show, yo.

I read that it was a freak bounce. Are you from the parallel universe where it was a conspiracy? Oooh! Dish!

Kinda disappointed that I had to explain that.

the article doesnt state whether it was a meth lab. if so,aside from creating mean babies,  tossing on an exploding device is a good idea how?
really most meth labs have highly volitile substances, and they could of burned the place to the ground, and therefore destroying evidence, and possibly killing all in side. yea , thats a good idea   ::)

Crazy, why not just wait them out? Even a methhead will have to leave the property at some point to get more materials for his meth makings, cigarettes, or something.
On a lighter side, that will likely turn out to be a "mean baby."

Jackstar

Take it up with the Sheriff in your local jurisdiction. What was I, born yesterday?

That goes for you both! Ask about LBJ X JFK too, btw! And Kennedy being on meth! Haw haw haw!

That is not good, because

And there is a very real chance that things will spiral out of control after that, ending with the total collapse of civilization as we imagine it.

HAH, the whole idea that you might say a word and Inadvertently trigger someone's mental problems. Sadly some make it a reality.
That reminds me of the sue happy America. I go to you're place, I get hurt, I sue you for an assload of money because I was at your place. When people come to my home I make them wear helmets, knee guards and pillow armor. We live in such a fragile environment of bottom feeders just waiting for a bigger meal ticket.

You just had to go and say "happy" didn't you?  That's my trigger word, and now I'm not going to be responsible for my actions for the rest of the afternoon.  Hope you're happy satisfied.

I don't understand this world in which one has a home without homeowner's insurance. Is it a kind of sitcom?

That's not as far-fetched as one might think.  People didn't see much need for homeowner's insurance until they saw Dick Van Dyke trip over the ottoman every week during the opening credits of his eponymous show.  After that, millions rushed out to buy it voluntarily and everything was peachy.  Then, of course, Big Government had to stick its big bazoo into the picture and deprive everyone of their God-given rights and freedoms by making it mandatory. Needless to say, the whole country went to hell in a hand basket in the decade that followed, what with anti-war protests, urban riots, double digit inflation, and disco.  I blame Carl Reiner.  May he burn in hell if he ever dies.
