I just got a new Dell PC that came loaded with Vista, which, frankly, can pound it up left with a diamond head drill. I intend to wipe, if you'll pardon the word, Vista off the hard drive, and install XP Pro. In pursuit of this, I have ordered a DVD which contains all the XP Pro drivers I will need. My question is, have any of you done this, and do you have any tips, tricks, info or experience you could share with me as to how to successfully complete this process.

Thanks,

M, what hates Vista

i did the same with my asus laptop.  initially, it came with vista and asus was not providing xp drivers.  that didn't stop me.  i installed xp and got all drivers installed with the exception of one.  i can't remember what driver it was, but apparently it was critical because i had to go back to vista again until asus began providing xp drivers for my laptop.

rule of thumb:  it's usually easier with desktops than laptops, and second, if they're providing drivers you'll be fine.

also, i use driveragent.com quite frequently.  i have a paid account there.
