That should be a top right of screen candidate for sure. It works almost anywhere in life.

moon hoax not
wonderful. great post YP.

for the unwashed... http://www.clavius.org/envradintro.html

"The recent Fox TV show (Conspiracy Theory: Did We Land on the Moon?), which I saw, is an ingenious and entertaining assemblage of nonsense. The claim that radiation exposure during the Apollo missions would have been fatal to the astronauts is only one example of such nonsense." -- Dr. James Van Allen

"For those who wish to maintain an illusion, ignorance is the best source of knowledge." --unknown

Click on this... Listen to George... Click on this... Listen to George... Click on this... Drink my own urine...

I am going to have to sit down and think this one over. You all go on ahead, I'll... catch up.

Jackstar

I chose to watch the video. I ought to have picked my own urine. This is one of the most inspid things I have ever seen. It's been seventeen minutes and there has not been ONE fact presented. Not one.

At 17:37 in the video, the guy says, "how can this be anything but an achievement... BEYOND BELIEF??" I had to stop the madness. Fuck this noise.

Well fortunately you're restricted to trawling CT websites and not space travel or designing telemetry with the resources you have available in the 1960's.

You could of course take it up with Astroguy on here who has a PhD connected with astronomy, but is pretty au fait with the Apollo missions, or try Expat. He worked in broadcasting during the Apollo missions and has written books about same...I would steer clear of calling either a lunatic though.
Yorkshire in your own words how did the Apollo missions use telemetry to get around the Van Allen belts?

onan

The real problem with the Van Allen belts isn't the radiation. It is the dragons. What you didn't know about the dragons? probably another conspiracy.

In the same way I don't use a ball point pen to start my car. It's what we non conspiracy theorists call a non sequitur. You did ask Astro Guy didn't you?

What is overlooked is that the rocket engineers developed the principle used by airliners that use turbines. Turbines and airliners together use thrust demons and lift pixies to fly. Rocket engineers also had to deal with leaving the gravitational pull of the Earth and get to the moon and back.. The thrust demons really tried but had to admit defeat; They were okay with flying at 35000 feet but getting above a 100 miles was a real bummer. The lift pixies simply went along with the thrust demons and in fact threatened to walk out completely unless they were given parity. However both agreed to help the Rocket engineers with trying a different tack.

Between them, the team (for that is what it now was) asked the space dragons and the solar fairies to give them that extra impetus to achieve the mission. Naturally NASA never mentioned it, because the dragons are as you know very shy and the fairies just attention seeking whores  who would want all the accolades. NASA simply put a news blackout on the real heroes and instead gave the honours to the amateur LM jockies who frankly couldn't fly a paper aeroplane.

John Lear thinks one of the structures on the Moon is a way-station for human souls. A soul-catcher of sorts.

Now surely souls would be evidence of a god.

And what does god need with a piece of machinery for harvesting souls?  Surely any god worth his salt is going to simply wish the souls to wherever he wants them to go, without the need for a piece of clunky equipment.  Kind of like the kid who could just wish people into the corn field in the Twilight Zone.

Anthony Fremont, that was the lad.  An evil monster who could make people disappear, and placed the local community back in the Dark Ages. An all-powerful 6 year old despot with the power of a god, the mind of a child, and the sadistic mean streak of a rabid weasel.

And isn't it entirely all too coincidental that the name Anthony Fremont sounds a lot like Barack Obama?

Or... is it coincidence?

Negative, Ghost Rider! I put the rest of your post in the chipper.

Kelt

Fair comment.

I'm assuming contemporary religious hijacking of the concept of 'soul' as the basis for that train of thought.

The concept of a soul does fit rather well with the concept of a god, however, given that in thousands of years of human civilisation we've managed to capture not a single one of either.

If I want a beer I'll go get a fucking beer, thank you.

It's no real basis for a broad cultural philosophy, though.

...would be the short answer.

Well, there were going to be follow up questions, but now... fuck it, I'll just start drinking now.

What is the sound of one hand clapping?
