It's not to focus on gun control.

We all know Obama and the Left would disarm us if they could.

Is that why Gun control has been relaxed since Obama took office? I love your definition of 'left'...it's so, so wrong. (I was going to say totally ignorant, but wrong sums it up)

Don't think they want our guns but are afraid to move in that direction for now?  Here's Eric Holder this past week:

PS, most Americans don't think disarming honest citizens will decrease gun violence.  We think just the opposite would happen.  And the stats, studies, and common sense are on our side

Can you point to where I said it was the fault of the Reps? I said you didn't have a clue what most people's professions entailed. One has nothing to do with the other.

You're suggesting he's not an extremist.  So then why hasn't a confirmation vote been scheduled?

I dunno baby; maybe aliens?

I wish just for one day I was in your head, and the bollox you come out with would make more sense to me. As it is, I have to guess.. And you still don't have a clue what most professions do, so how can you say they're not doing exactly what you want them to do?

How can I say who's not doing what I want?  What?

By the way, just so you know, I've worked in a variety of industries and have a pretty good idea what people in the various 'professions' 'do'.  In addition to going to work in those various industries every day over the years - becoming familiar with what businesses do, how they do it and why - I've also traded a few stocks and have gotten fairly familiar with the industry segments I like to follow.

Living here is the SF Bay Area, we have all sorts of companies doing various things that run the gamut, not the least of it is high-tech, bio-tech, communications - Silicon Valley is local news.  We also have Chevron, food processing, manufacturing, import/export, banking, entertainment, transportation, farming, resource management, you name it.  Not to mention all the government agencies located here.

If you disagree with me on what actually goes on in the business world or government or media, it's because you're probably wrong.

What is the actual work of the SG's office? You seem to know what it isn't..and Lt U put you right on that one, which oddly you didn't respond to in full, re: Koop.

A horrible, horrible thing? I don't trust anyone over, maybe 13 or 14, especially if male, who DOES know everything about "internet memes."

Certainly anyone over that age should know that the digital birth certificate that Obama's minions released doesn't comply with The Hague Convention (Oct 5th 1961.) Try to get a passport, VISA, work permit, residency permit, etc, especially if coming from another one, (but even here to get a passport or a social security card) in any of the signatory countries using only that digital copy without apostile and see how far you get (signatory countries include most of Europe, even Africa, and the USA which signed on in 1981.)

or, for those who memes and wiki are more important because they can't read legal documents:

Presumably then all your Rep mates have had regular protests since 2008 outside Capitol Hill and the Whitehouse to get the 'truth' about Obama's birth certificate?

Or you could just say you despise a black man being there, and save the trouble.

Actually I want Keyes back when and voted for him in the primaries in 96 and 08 (he got negligible numbers of course.) This time voted libertarian (basically a protest vote since Republicans will win Statewide and Democrats will win County), and including for a Hispanic for my local precinct and...wait for it...even for a Jewish guy in my local election a few years ago! Funny how Democrats running for office often won't admit voting for Obama this year! Not having thought of it at the time I wish I would've demanded a write-in ballot and voted for Ebola in some races just to see what would happen and so many politicians seem to be running on it- but we got these darn computer voting machines and long lines so didn't.
But, then again, I don't see simply voting on racial lines and the whole "identity politics" being a good thing. Also I've wondered why normal people need to comply with international treaties and laws regarding documentation- but not this guy Obama? I had to get someone to go and pay and DHL me an apostiled document from my place of birth. So I know that you Europeans demand it when applying for various permits etc.

It failed to explain the laws of thermodynamics as well as gravity.  Though close to formulating the unified field theory, you fall just short of solving the problems that great physicists have struggled with concerning "the theory of everything".  It is darn close... but it does not quite explain everything. ;)

It is still a little early for me to panic when using a public toilet.  First, the article comes to the conclusion that you "probably" could get ebola from a toilet.  However, it is another nice article that I would lump with "fear porn" for those who need a reason to worry.

The article makes mention that "Ebola victims often lose control of their bowels and excrete copious amounts of diarrhea. They also vomit heavily. Those liquids are highly infectious."  I remain skeptical that many infectious ebola victims who are excreting copious amounts of diarrhea and vomiting will be making a trip to the mall.

The article also helpfully mentions that "For workers in Ebola field hospitals, one of the riskiest acts is touching their boots or shoe covers... Disrobing protocol calls from them to slosh their feet in a bath of chlorinated water and then remove their boots with a bootjack..."  I appreciate the pointers and have made a mental note that when removing my hazmat suit that dozens of Ebola victims have defecated upon and vomited over to use extreme caution.  It was good of the paper to provide me with helpful tips such as these.  You just never know when you will be in a field hospital in a "hot" zone and mistakenly sit on a toilet or touch your shoe covers.

To be clear- if there were suddenly thousands of cases in N.America I would consider being slightly more concerned when using a public toilet.  However, by the time we reach that stage I may be avoiding most public places and this entire concern would cease for me.  I would think the NYT would have better things to inform me of than scenarios that presently are not realistic.

Naturally, their pointers are also very helpful in the event of a zombie apocalypse.  When returning form a long day with a shotgun the last thing you want to do is remove your brain-splattered boot covers without using a bootjack...

Personally, I don't want to be anywhere near a place where an Ebola patient was.   Why risk it?   I think that's the issue here is that people feel that way - and if they're off doing stuff and people fine out, it could literally shut an entire city down.  I'm too lazy at the moment to go looking for it, but I heard on the radio there was a study done on Dallas and the ebola situation had a significant impact on the economy.   So, yes, absolutely I think they need to keep people like Kaci Bitch in a forced home quarantine when they get back.  And I think it's absolutely fair to keep them isolated at a facility if there is any question as to their condition when they arrive.
