Whats your drug of choice?

Used to be Eccies, though they're not really a drug when you get right down to it.

Nowadays it's Jack Daniels., though that's not really a drug either.

I wonder how Eccies go with Jack Daniels.

"Brilliantly", would be the answer to that wee puzzler, I would think.

A drug is a chemical substance used in the treatment, cure, prevention, or diagnosis of disease or used to otherwise enhance physical or mental well-being.

Alcohol is just as much a drug as marijuana or LSD.

The term drug, if anything is probably too vague. By some definitions food can be listed as such.

Absinthe used to be legal on Vancouver Island when it wasn't here. In 2001, my cousin took me on a 2-day excursion on the Victoria Clipper and we were to stay at the Empress. It was just before Christmas. We were all excited about trying absinthe. But when we got to the cocktail lounge we became distracted by the happy hour food and ended up making our dinner on it and also drinking umbrella drinks(probably Singapore Slings) that we forgot the absinthe. I'm kind if glad frankly.

Now I'm on a drug that doesn't mix with alcohol. The rheumatologist says if I want to drink on a given day or evening just skip the drug that day, and sometimes I do, but it definitely takes the spontaneity out of it. Also I have to deal with being in more pain that day.

Speaking of adult beverages that aren't legal everywhere, how many have Everclear in their localities?

I think Indiana has it.  I'm pretty sure here in OH the limit at the store is 151.  Think Everclear is 180ish... wonder is PGA is available on the shelf anywhere?

Confusion. Ket doesn't come from a plant - are you thinking of quat, perhaps?

Or do you mean like a chemical plant?  :o In which case please give me a job.

Maybe I'm mistaking it for a plant. if so my appologiez.

Any substance, other than food, that affects the human body... I think I remember that from DARE.

That's all well and good, but you can't go running to the dictionary every time you want to define a word.

I mean, technically you absolutely can, but in the face of a strong enough opinion... such as the opinion I hold regarding E and JD... I think you'll realise the flaw in your logic.

Ergo, Eccies and JD are not drugs.

This is just science.

By the way. If you want some LSA (LSD's lesser cousin) just swallow a handful of Morning Glory seeds. They taste like dirt, but make a go down easy with water.

from an old physiology course actually. I brought up the definitions just to help with the explanation. If you feel more comfortable not acknowledging, that is on you.

1)DMT. Never done. But reading above posters I have some comments. I didn't know you could smoke it, but inhale it and I hear the drinking way (athauyshca (forgive my spelling) you usually gotta go through the puking deal. Both ways I think it needs to be combined with other substances to MOAI block so you drink, or, inhale, a concoction or mixture. And comes on slower and lasts longer. You also should purge (or not eat alot beforehand.) (Now I'm sounding like on Erowid forum). But I have heard some crazy stories about injecting just the pure DMT. Almost immediate acting, quick duration (though may seem longer), no puke/diarrhea etc, and I recall some book (decades ago) that said, oddly, that many people had similar experiences (seeing little people, old civilizations, etc).

2) Everclear is still for sale, at least in Texas. Yee haw. Grab some and some Hawaiian punch and get the sorority chicks over.

3) Absinthe. It is now "legal" in the US but the stuff isn't that good. Used to be, rumor had it, only legal in N.O. But I don't think so. And the thujone levels are very low, or not there at all, in the US and EU legal products. Pre-EU the stuff bought in Czech, Slovakia, etc had fairly high levels thojune but I never hallucinated but once, maybe. And I still say it is called drinking a bottle of very strong liquor (the anise/bitter taste makes you forget that it can approach double proof of whiskey).. Some higher than 151 rum. So, like the "worm" in a bottle of bootleg Mezcal, you aren't tripping or hallucinating from thojune- or the worm- but because you got yourself way, way too drunk and way too quickly.

Fuck it.  May be dumb question, but I'll ask.

Are ya even sure what you took?  There is a Doug Stanhope joke about when he took Extacy.  The guy handed it to him, he asked "What is it?"  "Well Doug, it's illegal."  So I swallowed it.  "Yeah man, it'll make ya real horny."  "You son of a bitch!"

One hell of a way to spend your birthday in Alaska.

Everybody please don't! Kidding but you would be surprised what people will do. Especially, kids, stay away from the Jimson Weed. Convulsions and schizo behavior is a trip, indeed. And don't just randomly eating whatever mushroom you find, especially if it doesn't bruise blue and grow on a cow patty. And even, if they do, don't eat them and stay in school and take your Ritalin and prozac as prescribed.....

Terence and Dennis McKenna both refer to smoking it.  In a synthetic form, it's similar to crack.  There's the Art Bell/Terence 4 interviews, one Dennis did with Art after Terence died, one Dennis did on Joe Rogan Experience, and I think dumbfuck had him on also once around the same time Joe did.

Can you be entirely certain that the content of this old physiology course hasn't been changed?

I seem to recall eggs were good for us, then they were bad for us, then they were good, bad, good, bad, good AND bad, back to bad, and now they're good again.

In the face of official vacillation I put it to you that you cannot be sure of anything, from the legal/dictionary/old physiology course definition of drugs to the colour of the sky outside.

I move to dismiss, y'onah.

I will revisit those interviews. Have one mp3 queued up on my phone after seeing this thread since I reckon the C2C will be boring tonight. ps: you mean "similar to crack" in a good way, or bad way? Or matter of opinion? Some aficionados have claimed free-base, and even crack, better than normal coke. So the injected DMT is, like crack, a quicker, higher rush but goes away quicker. And the the eaten or smoked DMT is a longer deal? I'm assuming, that there is no addiction issues.

Also curious about ibogaine. Aside from hallucinogenic properties apparently can treat heroin addiction and alcoholism but research banned in the US, of course. But wasn't that also the drug used as "truth serum" by the CIA and used as the voodoo drug in Columbia (blow in your face and you act like a zombie and they steal your stuff?)

I'd remove the cow patty comment and replace with "Has a purplish-brown spore print."

Everclear is 190. It's legal in Montana, don't know about WA. The best use of it I have heard is plugging melons. It seems to me there would be some danger of alcohol poisoning if you used it to make regular cocktails.
It does have some scientific uses. My arachnologist friend was advising somebody in MA about obtaining it and she had to go to New Hampshire or someplace to get it.
I don't think you would see pure grain alcohol for the same reason you don't see pure rubbing alcohol, but I could be wrong.
I used to like 100 proof Southern Comfort but can't get it here. Bacardi 151 is good in small amounts in cocktails like zombies that already have other rum.

If anyone doubts the man is a mad genius they should watch this short clip.

Right off the top off his head, and without pausing, he comes up with THREE words that rhyme with orange.

Lorange, smorange, and orange.

Smarter than Bush, funnier than Obama, and with a broader resistance to... I don't want to call them drugs... with a broader resistance to E and alcohol than even the Kennedies, except maybe Ted.

Dare I say it, but perhaps Big Noor should have him on as a guest?

I think he meant it's a rock like substance that hisses and sizzles when a flame hits it.  Lasts bout 5 minutes.  They used to call it "The Businessman's Trip" refering to the very short duration.  On a side note, did you know that DMT is very similar chemically to psilocybin or psilocin, one of em.  Plus does not require a MAOI inhibitor to digest orally.  Dennis calls it a more perfect form of the substance because of this.  Chemicals in the stomach neutralize DMT without the added substance.  Smoking also gets around this.

Ibogaine comes from the Iboga plant in Africa.  There's documentaries out about people in the US being taken up to Canada to go through it.  I guess it greatly diminishes the withdrawl effects of opiate addiction. Stuff in Columbia I think is something else.

In WA you can only buy the 151 variety of Everclear, last I looked. I knew a chemist at NIH decades ago who used to bring home Everclear equivalent, as pure as you can get, basically, due to the nature of alcohol/water, in jugs from the lab. Because, as you say, it actually is very useful in legitimate research applications and so they had a bunch on-site. Some good parties back then!

I recall reading in 'Mig Pilot', when Lt. Belenko is posted to the Far East, he discovers the Soviet flight crews and pilots spend most of their time hammered on jet fuel.

On a similar note, the Kenyans have a home brew that's called 'Kill Me Quick'... which does in fact kill people, though I'm sketchy on the rapidity of said resultant death.

What I will say is that Kill Me Quick is at least 50% true to its word, it  will kill you but how fast is unsubstantiated, which is probably more than you can say for dishwater like Bud or Miller.

Anyway, the Kenyans make Kill Me Quick, hereafter referred to as KMQ, using water that rats and cockroaches swim, frolic, piss, and shit in.  I'm also sketchy on their water purification systems, but I'm going to go right ahead and hazard a guess at "They have no water purification systems." KMQ also contains, Lt. Belenko will be surprised and delighted to discover, jet fuel.

Jet fuel, cockroach bits, rat feces... I don't know if that qualifies as a drug, but I guess I would try it once.

Good lord. I've heard of sniffing things like gasoline (didn't Dennis Hooper claim he used to do this as a kid?) but drinking it. Alcohol we use as fuel, either in portions like mandated now federally, or even directly (like in some racing) is denatured so if you drink it you gonna have some serious problems. Like death, going blind, etc. Don't do it, kids. Like old moon-shine made with some wood pulp "for taste or color" or from leaded soldered pipes or even through old car radiators. Not a good thing. Why prohibition was bad and why the "bottled in bond" and other laws were made, I believe. Everyso often you will see in places like Russia, Estonia, etc people getting poisoned for same reasons. Bad, adulterated liquor. But now massed produced and sold blackmarket or smuggled and sold as "good" vodka.

Not unless you're making big cocktails.  Or taking shots to prove how much of a man you are.  Best not take it too far and make sure you have a non alcohic chaser for it, usually a type of cola beverage or fruit punch.
