Didn't the monolith impart intelligence? That can't be George. He is one of the monkeys that didn't touch the monolith.

You could play 2001 backwards it would show a similar trajectory to Coast.

"Monkey playing with a pile of bones in the desert" isn't a flattering comparison either way.  And I really wish I could say "pile of bones in the desert" and not immediately think about Art.

Sitting on a dual stem balanced toadstool and playing an imaginary piano? What the heck is that all about?

MV ...

That looks more like a very ripe or plush Limburger fresh cut hunk of cheese while sitting on the throne.

American zoos just don't do justice for the bush down under.

Adds new meaning to "planning the parade".

Probably what the organizers of the Doo-Dah Parade think of on Colorafo Blvd in Pasadena before the big event on New Year's Day. Something every American should witness. Life changes riding in the back of a convertible 60's Caddy partying w/crowd on Colorado Blvd on New Yrs Eve for a few hours w/kids in car from Sierra Madre to Lake. I wouldn't run my plumbing truck on Colorado for a few days before that time of year because of the the crowds and all I wanted to do was fix other stuff. The Parade is like no other I've seen in person many times and better than the next couple of days seeing the floates parked at the Pasadena High School up on Sierra Madre for the next couple of days un-animated. Never did work for the little old Lady from Pasadena that drove the hot rod Lincoln though. Just developed tall tales somehow all true. Most likely much less than others have already accomplished.

edit:
for the first at least six months on the forum, guildnavigator had an old picture of Art in bellbottoms with a big groovy mustache as his avatar.  I didn't recognize it as Art, I thought it was a real picture of guild from the 70's.  I thought, "hey, that's a groovy old dude."

This was my avatar up until the point when Art Bell started posting here. Then I changed it to a picture of myself because it felt really weird to use his picture after he came around.

That's the one!  Sweet.
Isn't it part of a larger picture where he has bell bottoms on and his sitting on a rock or something?

Hey, I don't have blisters on my fingers. My fingers are itching for an open lines show not aligned with some planet called Uranus. The last orbit of Pluto relative to everything else it looked like I should look closer to the center and figure out why 21 then changed to 16 for the last planet. That's a difference of 5 and I don't even know if that planet has a harem of 7 moons. Men may be doomed.

Cool.  Art sure had the rocker look down in his youth.  He looks like he could have stepped in for Blue Oyster Cult.

I actually had the honor of seeing Derringer live during that album tour and only later saw what the McCoys did on TV earlier. After Peter Frampton and John Coates Jr in same but different perspectives, ended my efforts in trying to play an instrument on stage again so all I did was try to get closer to the mic that made the recordings of that stuff. Meeting Per Bruel and Viggo Kjaer in person was more of an honor to me. They figured out the foundation of what I was seeking. Hot Tuna @ Carnegie Hall in 1972 (youtube was up there) w/Pappa John was the turning point though. Turned out to be something unexplainable that my brain got stuck on so I rebuilt the engine in my car which worked out well. Common sense seems to be another key and foundation and I don't remember if it was a Payne, Roberts, Jefferson, or Hancock that started that thread.

Did somebody mention "parade?"

It's always good to see this photo rolled out again, although I do miss the taped name on the side of the car. But Jorch's kewl "Gotcha" only emphasizes the background audience who all seem to be wondering who the hell these two doofuses are. All except for the girl in the blue shirt who looks like she's about to tell her parents how that man in the car stole her hot dog.

Letting the good times roll with Jorch and Tommee.
