I never said that I couldn't - or wouldn't - help George with a donation to the catfood fund, and don't know what would have ever given you that impression.  George asked the Circle of Trust (plus Justin) to get the word out to the public in his cats' time of need, so that is what I have done.

I'll have to ask Mrs. Gerry if we can spare any of the generous donations that we received from our fellow Legion members, but George might not accept it anyway as it might be considered to be "dirty Callan money" ("dirty" describing the money, not Mr. Callan).  In addition, it might upset the Legion to know that any of their money was later funneled to George Senda as that was not its intended purpose.

Ol' Gerry would remind Musings thread readers that I've stepped up and donated to the Master in the past, joining others such as Meatie Pie and B---G--'s area51drone in sending cash contributions (USD $) on multiple occasions.  It's time for some of the rest of you to do so as well!

So Senda confirmed what I thought. The technical difficulties were on his end and he was not fired because he was a freelancer, they just are not using his work at this time.
