The headline is misleading.  Looking at the graphs, it's men in general - 'old men' didn't really spend that much more per customer than the 'men' in the other age brackets.  For some reason, according to that chart, men in all age groups spent approx half again as much as women per customer.  Much of this difference is possibly (likely) due to purchases for gifts, for students, for a small business, for a family, being paid for using either dads credit card, or a joint card with the husbands name listed first on the account and counted as a purchase by a man.

If an 'old man' is going to buy an Apple product at all, it stands to reason they have the bucks to do it, and having the bucks to spend will on average get the higher cost products.

This doesn't say how many customers they have in each age bracket.  The way they did these charts, if they had 1 customer over 100 years old and he or she spent $5000, the chart would have shown the average 100 year old customer spending $5000 - and CNN's headline would have been "Who is buying Apple products?  100 Year Olds".

A better way to show who is buying and using their stuff would be total dollars spent by age group, and dollars spent by end users rather than who initially paid for it (in general how many kids - younger kids and up thru college - are really spending their own money on their phones and computers?).

My inside source, not Gerry, reported this afternoon that he's still alive and kicking.   He is seriously tired of the bellgab bullshit, however.  Who can blame him?

I don't know how to put this... It is probably best for him.  The chances of getting respect in this forum for him is around 0% if he does not change (seems unlikely...)  I cannot figure out why you would come here and subject yourself to the kind of abuse (and occasional well meaning advice) that he gets (sometimes it is hard to differentiate between the two.)

Good news fellow gabbers!  I found the perfect solution to my Halloween dilemma of expending energy vs. payoff in free candy.  I went to my sisters and borrowed my nieces.  They did most of the work while I walked along the street.  Being as they naturally bring in far more candy than their parents will allow them to consume, I enjoyed a night of binging in chips, chocolate and sugar.  Naturally, in honour of this thread, I binged while skipping the purge.
