When you consider the circumstances, it's not that difficult to understand.  B---G--'s area51drone's longtime friend (Ol' Gerry) was facing a major surgery, so he decided to drive a few hours north to spend some time with Mrs. Gerry and me a couple of days beforehand.  Sounds like a downright decent thing that a good friend would do if you ask me.

The call with George (and Kathy!) was NOT a planned event, and was completely spontaneous.  A51D's "crap phone" rang late that evening, and sure enough, it was The Master calling.  (He called Drone, and we did NOT call him.)  It was a very pleasant chat, and I enjoyed it immensely.  Unfortunately, George ended it abruptly after he took great umbrage to a comment Drone made which he deemed to be offensive.

I appreciated A51D's visit, and of course the call.

Hi WC, I know I declined the club hoodie in favour of a coffee cup and never followed up on that, but I myself do not need more "stuff." I do have a couple of special needs cats that I'm in charge of--getting them the proper, veterinarian supervised care and such.

The first kitty I was put in charge of is an amiable 8 pound neutered male tuxedo cat. We first met each other through a mutual friend and he's the bee's knee's. He sleeps with me every night perched upon my ample hips for warmth. Lately his health took a turn for the worse and was diagnosed by his doctor with pancreatitis (confirmed by the SNAP test) and feline hepatic lipidosis. She did up a complete blood-work on him which partially confirmed her diagnosis. She did have some difficulty finding jaundice but she said that she found some in his ears.  It was a perplexing case because he pretty much had stopped eating anything, had stopped grooming and lost 2 pounds. He was still drinking and peeing a couple of tablespoons at best each day. But she gve him an antibiotic and a pain-killer in hopes that if he was in discomfort he would at least eat some.

She gave me a sheet that listed baby food "stage 2" to entice him but he doesn't eat soft food. I've tried all sorts of different canned food over the time we've been together but it's always is a no go. At best he'll suck the liquid out of an offering and leave the shreds to dry out and attract bugs (which he won't eat either). I have been searching for some dry food for him and hit upon Purina ONE Sensitive Systems Dry Cat Food for him. I haven't as yet bought him a huge Amazon bag (I've been going to WalMart) but he is responding well! He's eating a full bowl each day and pooping regularly! He's gaining weight and had been grooming and acting like his old self. He's still an "elderly" cat by the charts and I'm not going to fool myself about his chances. But it is nice to have him back bitching at me for service. :smile:

My other kittie is a hard-luck rescue gal from the streets. She's a spayed 14 pound tuxedo female that despite her size, has the sweetest little meow...go figure. She came to me from a 20-something career girl who was moving to Boston to seek her  fame and fortune and needed a stable home for the Sweetness. Sweetness did not come without her own baggage however. Sweetness has a history of urinary tract problems and thus requires special food. I've been subscribing to both Purina ONE Urinary Tract Health Formula Dry Cat Food and the canned Purina Pro Plan Wet Cat Food, Focus, Adult Urinary Tract Health Formula Chicken Entrée. I only give her 1/2 a can a day of the wet because as mentioned she's a "big girl." But given her background I find it hard to let her feel hungry...

I certainly will continue to care for and provide top-notch veterinary care for these two, but if anybody is in a giving mood I think these two little souls would appreciate any donation.

I haven't been around the forum as of late and I would like to appoint StarrMountain® Vanguard Member (Since 2010) as my forum representative. Starr and I have been "around the block" so-to-speak and I trust her judgement. Please PM Starr and she will carry out the details (I hope).

I think Falkie would be a great private investigator. He is good with cameras and is also very sneaky. Perhaps he could work for the state investing welfare fraud.

Just read the harbinger dump from the 7th.   I understand the ladies pictures now and am horrified at what will
inevitably follow.   Hopefully  it uncorks soon - getting on a big boat in a few days with limited 'net access and this
is better than a Luke & Laura episode on General Hospital.

I found the $175 for 2 hours of 'casting most fascinating.   I wonder if a guy like Malliard has made even $1.75 after
years of shows.

If I am able I will be assisting him with making slight modifications to the slideshow introductions to allow spoken voice to be layered on top of them. Obviously the videos as they are now are perfect but I want to see if we can go to the next level. Unfortunately George is unable to tell me at this time what the software is that he is using to "edit" and upload the videos so until that time we are at an impasse and the videos will have to remain as they are for the time being.

That was one of several comments that have deeply upset The Master in the past, but it was made on some other occasion.  I don't recall what it was exactly that B---G--'s area51drone said while we were both on with George, but I know it wasn't the "biggest thing" comment as that one is kind of infamous.

Thank You for your kind words Ciardelo.  Anything to entertain my bellgab friends.  That's my motto.  By the way, If you have success with your kitty fund raiser with WhiteCrow, and find you have excess, although I am not in need myself, (I don't have a pet at this time), I DO live in an appartment building of 200 persons with limited incomes, on Social Security, and Disability, many of whom have kitties, and are required to provide proof of shots, and all other required vet services etc, which can be very expensive.  Most of them have to pay someone to provide transportation for the pets to the vet, since they are unable to do these things themselves, due to old age and the kind of things that the elderly and disabled deal with on a daily basis.  So if you happen to find yourself with excess, and would like to share, I would be happy help distribute any excess to those in need in my building.  NOT for myself of course.
