What's your favorite free online radio?

I listen to c2c through a few local streams. Democracy now once in awhile. 

I want something live or rebroadcasted on a live network. Something that gives me hope for greater truth(s) and somewhat fantastic.

I don't listen to much live radio anymore, unless I'm logging numbers stations or listening for space oddities. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of talk worth hearing live lately.

Favorite podcasts include:

WTF with Marc Maron (obviously)
Thelema Now (the official podcast of the Ordo Templi Orientis)
Aural Apocalypse (the only podcast dedicated to apocalyptic neofolk and martial industrial music)
Lexicon Valley (Bob Garfield from NPR's On The Media discussing word origins and dialect)
Slate Culture Gabfest (bunch of over-educated windbags discussing shit that doesn't really matter)
Selected Shorts (short stories read live in front of a live audience)
New Yorker Fiction (monthly short story podcast)
Brainwashed Radio (great music podcast)
The Moth (true stories told live on stage)

and I very frequently search "Jim Goad", "Boyd Rice", and "Genesis P-Orridge" for any podcast interviews I can get my hands on.

I can always find something on the BBC or the CBC... but then again Canada has entire programs on READING!..like "Canada Reads". ... and the BBC has a large number of channels, like Radio4 Extra

Saturday Night Blues with Holger Peterson

Is this the dude with a bit of a monotone voice? It's not strictly blues is it? I mean, he showcases just about anything with blues influence no?  I heard someone talking about recording techniques before effects were invented. Some really interesting stuff, like recording in a tank of water to create a reverb on a guitar.

I disagree. Gen was one of those people who completely transformed my life and the way I view the world. But I understand where you're coming from.

I disagree. Gen was one of those people who completely transformed my life and the way I view the world. But I understand where you're coming from.

No doubt gen has been prolific at times, but he's had some serious freak outs and said some really hurtful words to so called friends, who are now deceased. I hold a bit of a grudge on gen, because I see the emotional immaturity and volatility so close to the surface. I don't know if that's rock star syndrome or what?

I also just hold a much higher regard for balance and christopherson, and even though they probably would sooner shrug genesis off knowing how selfish or self interested he is, I don't know if his artistic value warrants excuse for the shit he's pulled

ah man I completely understand. Sleazy was a tremendous influence on me as well. His death was such a shock. COIL was huge in my life, and both he and Jhonn Balance were intense, magical figures. WFIT; Melbourne , Florida College station & NPR( nominally) Florida Institute of Technology, Friday night Blues show w/ Gary Z on Friday nights 8 to10PM then Blues Revival 10 to12 pm after Mr.Z's show. Gary and I shared a couple houses back in the 80's. There are a lot of good jazz programs on that station too  but Z's and Rev.Billy's revival show following Z's show are the ones I like .

ah man I completely understand. Sleazy was a tremendous influence on me as well. His death was such a shock. COIL was huge in my life, and both he and Jhonn Balance were intense, magical figures.
