was in 1995, I lived in Fairbanks, AK and there was a pretty good earthquake.  My first thought (after the rumbling stopped) was to run to the radio and see if Art had opened up a line for someone from Fairbanks to call and talk about the quake.

Yep, he did.  I was very young and fresh at the time, he was quite the flirt.

:'(

I would pay big money if someone can find that old show for me.

There was an earthquake of October 6. Was that the one? Unfortunately, I don't have that one. But it might help someone else look it up easier.

I couldn't guess the date.  It might be!

Made a new topic to reach out ...and read other stories of "that time" anyone talked to Art.  In remembrance, I guess.

I have am extensive collection but I don't have October 6 1995 or any dates around that. If you have a definitive date I can check that too. Other than that it is a needle in a haystack. If I ever come by it by chance I'll let you know. You might want to buy a lottery ticket though as that will probably be more likely to happen. ;)

Only time I tried and got right through in the later 90's. Hoped to sound halfway coherent between Terence McKenna and Art and inadvertently talked over a comment Terence was starting to make. I still bury my face in my hands when I hear it back, but it was a thrill. I saw Terence speak live once as well. Big loss when he passed, and then years later a fire takes out his extensive library in storage that was about to get a permanent home at Esalen.  :(

I called in one time to talk to Art about the project I was considering at the time - flying a RC model airplane into Area 51 that had a video camera remote feed on it.   He told me it would get shot down and pretty much abruptly ended my call.   It was open lines.   I would love to hear it again for a good laugh.  I was in college at the time, so probably sometime in 97-98.

I bet I heard that show. I listened to a lot of Art live between 96 and 98.

If you can narrow down a date I can look if I have it. Even if you narrow it down to a particular month as I have all the Open Lines shows labelled as Open Lines.

It is such an exercise to remember back that far.   I can picture the time when I was building the plane but I have no idea. I lived in that dorm room for a whole school year.  It had to be September '97-June'98... I know it is somewhere in that time window but I realize that's a pretty big window.

It was probably sometime after I heard this...

You know, we were flying that plane I made by the summer, so my guess is the show was sometime between  March and June.   It may have been one night where he had open lines after a guest, so it could be any number of shows.

I didn't know. It was Urban Fool that brought it up. I checked my Archive and I don't have that date.

i think i've heard this one before, which is a good sign since i've only listened to old art archives for the past 3 years. Good luck haha
