Tried to get some work done this morning instead of checking this thread right away and ended up doing what I do when I try to work... Facebook.  Came across this right away and thought, "Oh, the ghost has a Jorchstache." Then came to check out this thread anyway.   At least it's Friday so no one else is working.

Any media folks here?  Why not buy some commercial time on Indie 104 with the message:  Frreeee Artttt Bellllll!

This should be done in the style of a numbers station. Just static and strange music and "free art bell" being repeated for 2 minutes.

Hey folks
Noory is going to have open lines tomorrow on C2C
It would be interested if some of us called
Free Art Bell

Yeah but knowing Noory, He'll bag off early and just replay Open Lines from a random night 3 years ago.

There has been some troll talk on this thread, and I just wanted to refresh.  I have been a member of the forum since 5/12/2008, long before some of the newbies.    I am not a troll, I just go through periods when I post a lot.  Then, I hibernate until I choose to post again.  I just want Art to be free of unnecessary restrictions so that he may broadcast if he chooses.

I was once asked to sign a non-compete when I worked in the corporate world.  I refused, and I stayed employed.  I guess a question I have is did Art have to sign the non-compete to be hired, or is this something so common in the radio industry that radio personalities do not blink, they just sign on the dotted line?

According to Art the other night, I believe he said a NC is standard.

My life is HELL right now because of a non-compete. I can't go work for another public relations agency in this town for another six months. And yeah, my signing it was a condition of my last job, which ended up sucking royally. It's a drag when you sign away a chunk of your life for a job that isn't worth five minutes of it.

I'm not Art Bell, though. I would think someone with his legendary â€" and I say that with all sincerity â€" reputation in the talk radio industry wouldn't have to screw with such drivel, but hell, maybe the more significant you are, the more crap you actually do have to swear allegiance to.

Speaking of, I had a weird dream that the devil himself offered me millions and millions of dollars to be the mother of the antichrist. The horrifying thing is, I think I was going to take him up on it. I had to go to a fertility clinic to make sure I was still fertile. I woke up right when some weird lady was showing me a giant chart that illustrated how many working eggs I still had.

I must have been worrying about money in my sleep. And ovulating.  :-\

Kingification

In you guy's opinions, what were some of the best episodes of Dark Matter? I haven't listened to all of them and really need to catch up.

A pause for sentiment and a message for Art.

Sentiment: The build up on ArtBell.com to the announcement. All the hints, secret messages, and links to the music...no one does it like Art, NO ONE! And it worked, steering us right into increasing anticipation of the message and excitement for his return. We were invited, enticed, into taking the ride and we scrambled on board. ART WAS BACK! Those of us who were with Art during the best days of Coast to Coast in the 90s knew the true significance of the event; the Messiah returns! Yes, he is THAT good.

Art, Mr. Drama who was the dynamic of Coast, who made Coast an encounter in the middle of the night where the host was reason enough to listen, but we also got guests talking about EVPs years before anyone heard of "Ghost Hunters," a guest who tossed dead animals into a bottomless hole, a guest who had an alien reptile lover visit her on earth, a guest who had an alien in his freezer, a guest who assured us the stars in the sky were actually a holographic image masking other life filled planets, a guest who saw images of a cruise ship on Mars, calls from time travelers, fanatics, weirdos and intellects, all unscreened and surprising.

And, in the midst of all this excitement Art would occasionally do things such as accidentally gluing his lips together with super glue during a commercial break while "Dancing Queen" entertained listeners waiting for more.

Yea, we loved every minute of it, loved Art, and were so damn excited about his return to us. We had waited a decade for this moment and as Art would say, "Well, there you have it."

Of course we are disappointed, hell we are crushed. This is more than just a radio show,  THIS IS ART BELL!

So some lashed out with bitter disappointment saying harsh words, and hateful words. Some were just trolls waiting to pounce. Others just pled and begged for a change of heart or decision.

Now to the message for Art part: Do you get it Art? Maybe it's creepy, maybe it's too much for you, call it a cult, whatever..., the bottom line is you mean that much to us. On gabcast our reaction was compared to the stages of grief. Excellent analogy because losing you is something we already know about and it has been a deep loss we don't want again, especially having another taste and hearing you say you want to be on the air.

So Art, keep up the good fight. Don't give up. Make it happen. The Art Bell base is still here, waiting, again. And get a damn lawyer who has experience dealing effectively with noncompetes and knows what he is doing.

Waiting and loving, Free Art Bell!
very nicely put! thank you for expressing such a universal sentiment for Art Bell

Anyone else agree that we should start an image macro only thread?

How about the song Ballad of the Grays!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu7bmvkgWEg

That was the best song ever.  I've searched the net and can't find a way to contact the Dana Ray Band.  They are on fb, but I don't use fb-- if someone could contact them and tell them what's happening maybe they'd write a freeartbell song...well, I can always dream...But it may be worth a try.  If someone like the Dana Ray Band could be inspired, it would be amazing.

Help, I don't know what this means. Inline full size?

I'll do it if you explain it.

(Wow, I haven't said that in years.)

Can someone make an image of a SiriusXm reciever with #FreeArtBell in the channel listing
