Looks like the end

Just very disappointing and sad.  Thanks for giving it a go with Dark Matter, Art.  Very sorry it didn't work out.

Looks like the end

This is exactly why I will not be in the audience listening to Sirius.

First of all my sincere congrats to Premiere Radio, they made the right move. Business is War
and I would have done the same exact thing, and did in my day.

It was fun while it lasted.  Happy trails

First of all my sincere congrats to Premiere Radio, they made the right move. Business is War
and I would have done the same exact thing, and did in my day.

Second, given the same circumstances I would make the same decision again today about Dark
Matter. There is much you do not know and I will not talk about because it was given in confidence
and I am kind of old school so I will not talk about those things even though it would help you to
understand my decision.

Third, I would love it if Sirius/XM would waive my NC but they said no and even though I could run
out and get a Lawyer and perhaps win back my freedom I will most likely not do that. If I were ten
Years younger it might be a different story, I will say this, It seems crazy as hell to me that we offered
exactly what Premiere ended up taking. Now Sirius/XM has a show that will be mostly commercials and
seems much less a good fit than Dark Matter with a Host who thinks a Typhoon in Vietnam causes rain
in Hawaii. (Last night's show, first hour)

Fourth and finally I would like to say sorry to the people who did come over either by Radio or the less
than stellar streaming, trust me I understand your anger, I only wish you had enough information to
understand my decision.

                                                                                                          Art Bell

Jesus Christ we are all sorry that it has to end this way, a career over because of the last minute screw job, a legend out of his job, and millions of fans suffer

Bigelow's building you a studio in space, right? You'll land on Mars in two years time and noory's contract will end...

Yeah, I can live with that.

Oh I'm here.
Just been trying to keep up with all the posts.

How about an e-mail campaign to get Art released from his non-compete?  Numbers add up.

I'm pleading with everyone not to take out their anger on any call-center employees. I've worked in call centers for a great deal of my adult life and a lot of the time call center people are treated like utter shit. Its probably a billion times worse in other countries.

A case in point, the last call center I worked at made it a rule that we could only have one type of drink at our desks. So, I couldn't have coffee and water simultaneously. I'd have to drink water, then go out to my car, drink as much coffee as possible, then come back. Plus my bathroom breaks were assigned in such a draconian fashion that about 20 minutes till break time I was squirming in my desk "like a toad", as Jim Morrison says.

But ... as far as I know Beck doesn't have a non compete clause. He was driven off the air by crazed leftist loonies who lied about what he said on his show.
Wouldn't anything Art does on line be considered competition ?

Mercury Arts, as far as I know, owns the entirety of Glenn Beck's content. Additionally, Glenn hasn't been away from broadcasting for several years, thus losing touch with his fanbase. Face it, a good percentage of Coast listeners don't know who Art Bell is.

Sometimes people just don't want it badly enough.  Thanks for all the fun, Art!

And so this is how they will enforce his noncompete now too.  Now they have C2C and they'll say he can't compete against them because of that reason.  I think Art's sunk for another 2 years :(

'For those of you who listened to Coast to Coast AM on XM, we have great news for you-- - now, from 1am-6am ET/10p-3am PT you can hear us on BOTH Sirius and XM on Indie Channel 104. The fans were heard and  we are baaaack!!!'

Yeah you heard the fans, and did the opposite of what they wanted.. they wanted Art.

To be fair, Art QUIT and burned that bridge... It's amazing how some people just can't call a spade a spade

DanTSX

Art didn't say it was over you dopes!

Give The man some time.  We got plenty of Nooron to harass until then.  We are hanging on art's every breath like we are waiting in the delivery room for out new grandson to be born.

Good Afternoon Art,

Just wondering what this means... are you still 'in', or is this the big goodbye?   :'(

whatatrip

Sirius really sucks. I am so happy I "dropped off" and discontinued my subscription. They deserve a lot more "drop offs".

I was not mean and nasty, just expressing my personal feelings in a very succinct manner.  An adult can do that.

Ughh.....oh man....sorry...wiping the yoke off my face as the joke is on me....I invested 600 dollars to get away from C2C and listen to Art...lol...crying out loud....but what do I have today???LOL....C2C for 600...lol......You got me Dave!!!!!! A war?  You quit and Sirius took an offer to have a similar show at the same time slot; real 'battle' there.  Oh right, the elves behind the scenes made you break your contract because Sirius didn't want to give away free product.
If you didn't have a temper tantrum on Monday, and like a professional said "hey Sirius, I'd like to be an indep broadcaster so you don't have to pay me and I could stream for free" on Tuesday, everything would be just dandy.

McPhallus

This is important to remember.  How many people thought he'd come back at all?  I didn't.
