I'm starting to think some of the reps at sirius is just telling people whatever they want to hear.

yes.  they probably are paid for each subscriber they talk off of the ledge.

I'm beginning to think that the truth here is very simple. Art just didn't have the number of listeners required in order to keep going. Siriusxm does not want to play.  Nothing more, nothing less.
At least he tried.  He may come back, he may not. That's the easiest for me to live with.  That I can accept because there is no other choice.   The rest is a speculative, beating of the dead horse, so to speak.

If SiriusXM has decided to completely cut ties, who could blame them? Regardless of the streaming issues that some had and many more did not have, Art pretty much screwed them over. I hope they release him from his non-compete clause, but I don't see any reason why they would. Releasing him from the NCC would be a gesture of goodwill, and it doesn't seem like good will is exactly something that Art has engendered with SiriusXM. The situation is a complete cluster.

Art might have a case in court to nullify his NC. It would be in the best interest of Sirius to simply let AB out of his NC and not further damage the reputation of Sirius. AB is no competition for Sirius. They have no program that even begins to compete with what AB or DM does. The only reason for Sirius to hold AB to the NC would be for spite or who is the bigger Alfa dog. The headlines would read "big rich corporation screws the little guy again".

Interweb rumors can get started so easily.
NO he didn't quit, it was just some SXM call center monkey fuck up.
They mixed up Art Bell Dark Matter, with Clyde Lewis Zero Ground.
That is all, thanks.  :-*

Hey, Don Ecker quit DMR

juanelo

art just posted this in his Facebook page.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

the gabcast will be tomorrow at 7pm instead of today.  i have to watch my kid tonight, and unless you want to hear the laundry list of arabic childrens' songs playing in the background, it's best to wait.

I have alot to do today too.  Thanks.

Please do keep posting Art, I for one appreciate & respect both you & Producer Paul chiming in here.  Some may not agree with what you have to say, but I don't believe most talents would even bother with their fan forums.

At the very least we can take his update to mean that he's engaged the services of an attorney instead of trying to take on Sirius on his own.

Now wait one minute here...I have a very very nice bridge in Brooklyn very good condition at a "souper wonerfill" price to quote this guy I've heard talk gose by the name of snoory, jorch snoory or mabe dave sumptin or other.

I have already trotted out my Commission Theory:  they may get a bonus if they keep someone signed up, and if that person desperately needs the extra money they may well lie to keep that person on (by that person having it suggested to them that Art Bell may well be back soon).

Not impressed by that.  They should all have a statement they read from the company about Art leaving, and all say the same thing.  Otherwise, confusion about whether Art is really ever returning to Sirius or not will be out there, and they have kept a subscriber on under a false promise.  Not very cool.

Hi everyone. I know this isn't the right thread, but I am posting this here because I know everyone will see it. I have an URGENT prayer request for my mom. She had a heart attack last night and please anyone who believes in God or Prayer to please pray for her to get well. Her name is Rachel and she is 85. Thank you. I won't be on for a while since I haven't slept in like 36 hrs. Will let you know how she is as soon as I can get back online. She seems stable for now but I am very worried since she had a heart attack about a year and a half ago as well.  :'(  Thank you.   :(

Blessings to you and your mother, hope all goes well with you and yours soon.

P.S. I'm still waiting for that sammich.  :-[

Yes.  It's interesting to hear differing stories from differing reps.  If Sirius was a well run company, they would have ALL their reps saying exactly the same thing.  I still suspect they get a commission if they sign someone up or prevent someone from cancelling.
Yes, when I had a subscription years ago they practicall begged me to stay. They threw all kinda of offers my way. I highly suspect they are on commission.

The message on Artbell.com has been changed to now read: We're hoping to get Art released from SiriusXM contract so he can come back on Internet LIVE Streaming. We already have the technology in place, just waiting for the lawyers. It definitely seems as though all ties to Sirius in any form have been severed.

If I take that for what it says, sounds like Art is telling us it's a simple matter of throwing a switch to begin webcasting on his site.  If that is correct, then:

Hey Art:

Why not hit the "press to test" button right now?  Go live tomorrow on your site to force Sirius/XM's hand, they would be forced to either accept it or go for a cease and desist order in ( I assume) federal court.   If they do nothing, you're back in business.   If they go forward with legal action, you should welcome a chance to stand up on your hind legs before a judge and tell your side of the story.  Be bold, if you really believe you are in the right, take the fight to them.  Make them communicate, even if in's a court room.

LemurCat

Sirius CSMs are usually the last people to know about any programming change on the platform.  (I refuse to refer to them as XM CSMs, as XM actually had decent customer service based in the US pre-merger.)  It's a well-known fact that if you threaten to cancel, they'll reduce the price or give you free months.  But asking them about programming is tantamount to discussing religion with your dog.

Or a simple matter of  having a contract termination notice, duly executed, in hand so he's not running the chance of litigation.

It is Clyde Lewis' Ground Zero (not Zero Ground).  Sorry, I'm anal about show titles.

And Clyde has now confirmed to me that he is not, and has not, quit radio.  Thank god, coz I need some voice in the darkness to listen to who seems to have his finger on the pulse.

Very interesting.  Sort of confirms my They Are On Commission Theory (or, at the very least, supports it).  Thanks for your info.

Why mv.
This forum and all of it's posts are as insubstantial as the dream fabric of the night and merely a display of the six realms of human existence.  That of the Gods, Titans, hungry ghosts, hell beings, animals, and humans.
Quite a sight really.

I really hope that Sirius will not sue Art.  But I am a bit worried about that, since I'm sure they spent a LOT of money building him his own studio at his home compound.  They may, at the least, want to recoup that money.  I think it would be way cool if Art pays Sirius back for that money they spent building him the studio, and in return they let him out of his two year non-compete clause.
