One thing. I certainly can understand all the anger.  Art pulled a huge tease on all of us. My respect for him has waned considerably due to the way he has handled this situation. Not that it really matters much because like it has been said before we don't matter. 
It's pretty plain and simple.  The relationship has suddenly become estranged. That always leaves one in a lurch and yes, angry.

I hope he reads every single post on this thread, and I hope he has the cojones to post here and engage with all the fans he has angered - because the anger is legitimate.  Many of his long time fans shelled out good money to listen to his new show, and he has left them all in the lurch.  He owes all of us a genuine apology.

He doesn't owe us an apology. Even for the folks who bought equipment, nobody forced you to get it. He duped us, plain and simple. He is a quitter, plain and simple. He made a choice and we can call make a choice to never listen to him again or put up with his BS.

I'm pissed.  We're all pissed.  But, Art made a mistake.  A big one.  The mistake was either overestimating his own motivation to do a regular show, overestimating the capabilities of satellite / internet broadcasting, or underestimating the will of a corporation to do things their way.  None of this really matters anymore.  We've learned from this fiasco... maybe Art has too.

Well, there's pretty tried and true rules about station grounding which really needs to adhered to. And without those precautions you would invariable damage a radio (or other electronics). He should know that stuff I would imagine. I know it.

The defacto radio standard is not terribly dissimilar to the TIA-607b standard.

I don't know what Art knows. As you describe it, losing a number of radios to current caused by ambient EM was a bit bush league.

Hell, I've even got a separate direct ground for my personal computer equipment. Completely isolated form the rest of the house.

I am not blaming ANYONE right now. I am merely asking that people calm down a minute and let things settle. Art has said he could be back on the air as soon as tonight if he can find a compromise with sirius, yet there are so many people on here freaking out at him.

Let things settle, if this isn't resolved in a week then by all means ill be right there with everyone else pissed off, I just dont want to react off of what was quite obviously a brash and unthought out response by Art to sirius saying no.

Maybe some of the posters are trying to cause trouble but I believe that Art Bell has such a rabid fanbase that loves his no nonsense line of questioning that it's easy to get worked up when he walks away like this. This time seemed like it was going to be different, a three year deal with SiriusXM, and it wasn't worth trying to compromise and stick it out. I'm devastated, as are many in this thread. Moreover, fans like me spent a lot of money to support his new show and he left without so much as an apology.

Art has acted nothing more than a cry baby his whole life. Art never grew up. Now he says it is different and he has a new show. Maybe Art really grew up, just maybe. Now Art says it is my ball and I am going home. Art hasn't changed. He is still acting like a little brat. I think he deserves tons more than what he has already received. Someday he really needs to grow up.

Fair enough. I'm having a hard time taking Art at his word right now. If this isn't all a scam to just get out of the deal, I do agree with you that Art made a rash decision, and on some level a) may have been shocked that SiriusXM said "no" and b) may be shocked yet again today when they don't come crawling back to him begging for him to stay.

My only point here is that Art, even if he only is off the air for 2 days, severely damaged his relationship with his audience. And that's in a best case scenario.

When I told the XM guys Art left and so am I they hung up on me and refused to cancel my subscription.
I called them back and gave them a piece of my mind.  They hung up on me again so I gues i will have to change my card number so when they try to renew on the old card it will fail.  I hate having to do that because of the SCHMUCKS at XM.  I think I will post their telephone number on the next bathroom stall I visit.
