When I told the XM guys Art left and so am I they hung up on me and refused to cancel my subscription.
I called them back and gave them a piece of my mind.  They hung up on me again so I gues i will have to change my card number so when they try to renew on the old card it will fail.  I hate having to do that because of the SCHMUCKS at XM.  I think I will post their telephone number on the next bathroom stall I visit.

I've been listening to Art since 1996. In my mind, the guy is done. I am ready for new blood.

Through the website teases, the false starts, false hope, and then when we get what we've been wanting for years, he pulls a Lucy with the football. He gave this endeavor a month & a half. Seriously? How else do you expect people to react? Art made a huge deal about his comeback, with a months-long buildup to the reveal and start of the show. He came back to a pay service, which many of his most loyal fans shelled out serious money for, and then bailed after six weeks.

I'm not a troll or a fake account. I'm a 32 year old guy who was a 13 year old kid when he fell in love with Art's show. I bought in hook, line, and sinker to what he peddled, believed him throughout his previous retirements, and (along with thousands of others) got kicked in the teeth yesterday. He shows apathy at best, and open contempt at worst, toward the people that care about his show.

Not that it matters - I hadn't registered but checked in for laughs at Noory's expense and the live discussions for Dark Matter on a regular basis. Art quitting finally made me sign up. If you check my history of posts, you'll see that I've been more than fair.

I hope he reads every single post on this thread, and I hope he has the cojones to post here and engage with all the fans he has angered - because the anger is legitimate.  Many of his long time fans shelled out good money to listen to his new show, and he has left them all in the lurch.  He owes all of us a genuine apology.

Regrettably, it is November.  If I were Art (and I still had a radio show) I would "retire" every April 1st just for fun and to watch the forums fill up.  Then return on the second, laugh, and claim the most successful April fools day joke ever.  Sadly, it is not April and I do not think that Art is incapable of reading a calendar...

You forget Art has done this his whole life! This time he suckered many into believing this time is different and satellite radio is the answer and AM radio is dead. Come and enjoy the ride. Here buy a sub to Sirius and buy some satelite radios. Then Art like always pulls a Bell and says see ya suckers!

I didn't think Dark Matter was bad radio whatsoever. Art was a tough interview, not falling asleep at the console like Noory does on a nightly basis. Sure, some of the guests weren't my cup of tea but it was a pleasure to have Art back four nights a week and I don't see how the stream issue couldn't be resolved in time if SiriusXM weren't willing to allow the free stream on his website - and why should they? Giving management an ultimatum and screwing over your enthusiastic fanbase is unbecoming of a radio legend like Art Bell. I don't think that's too hard of a stance.

Art claims that he is somewhat of an expert about electronics and most ham operators knows enough about electronics that you can pretty much depend on what they say about electricity is probably on the up and up. But Art doesn't seem to have a clue. As it had taken Art a number of times connecting up a bunch of radios which died after he connected them to his array before he finally figured out that maybe his array is blowing out all of his radios.

I've seen slow people before. But even any half wit replacing a bulb for the second time because the first replacement instantly blown would think maybe it isn't the bulbs that is the problem. But not Art, he has to blow 4 more bulbs (in his case radios) before he gets it.

Well, there's pretty tried and true rules about station grounding which really needs to adhered to. And without those precautions you would invariable damage a radio (or other electronics). He should know that stuff I would imagine. I know it.

The defacto radio standard is not terribly dissimilar to the TIA-607b standard.

I don't know what Art knows. As you describe it, losing a number of radios to current caused by ambient EM was a bit bush league.

Hell, I've even got a separate direct ground for my personal computer equipment. Completely isolated form the rest of the house.
