I've been subscribed to C2C since 2001, long before Art left. Rarely do I have a problem streaming C2C live to this day. That is what I expected when I tried out Sirius but it was no where near the product. I got dropped a lot. That is a very good reason to not listen to the show, it was too much of a hassle and missed comments right when they counted the most, which was almost all of the time with Art.

Because Art Bell is a BRAND. Art Bell was given this job based on his name and his name carries (or rather carried) alot of weight in fans and followers. Sirius OWNS the 'Art Bell' brand for all intents and purpose for the next 2 years. This normally will extend to even merchandise in many cases.

The whole 'NC' issue is moot. Art is done.

I think Art wanted to be done and is using this as an excuse and an 'easy out'. Why didnt Art just stream from the get go? Why not charge $7.00/month which would have been an awesome deal compared to $15 or whatever and the profit would have easily been more than $75K/year based on his fans alone (I would imagine)...

In one of Arts first DM shows, he brags a bit about Sirius doing something he asked that Howard stern had been asking for for years (But they did it for ART BELL)- Art Bell was given a platform and a show by a company which (although Satellite Radio is stupid) was bending over backword to meet his demand(s).

-Artr Bell wanted a huge listenership from the get go. He THOUGHT he wanted this but realized he actually didnt. THAT I can respect, but this bullshit excuses and stringing folks along is ridiculous and cruel... Cellphones? yeah. Excuses...Excuses...Excuses...

So even if the NC would be easily appealed (it will not...) Art wouldnt pursue it. This is 'going through the motions' so Art doesnt appear to be a quitter.

It was also streamed over the Internet, so that NC might include Internet broadcasting.  But no one owns or regulates the Internet.  So is it really enforceable. I dunno.

So he won't challenge the NC, but then again he will and try to have it "removed."

I've had enough of Art's obfuscations for one night, I think.  I'm going to bed.
