I love this term they've come up with "self medicating"  like its a crime to make yourself feel better without the cost of paying for an office visit.

:) Smart comment. I haven't thought of that. But you are right. What a bizarre "spin."

What scares me the most I think, is that these "spins" work, psychologically, on most of the population.

I have to admit a few years ago after fishing and shooting whatever varmints could find for fun around Matagora Bay area at a friends ranch that late his wife showed me up in an App in her (at the time to me at least) new iPhone where one could ID the stars, constellations, etc and it was awesome. I was trying to, lamely, saying to kids and folks "see there's Orion's Belt" and she whipped out the phone (with a red screen, so night vision not killed) and showed all the stuff. Cool, actually. But a bit put off. Later some bottle rockets I sent off went into the porch and caused folks to run around (unintended for that direction.) But, yes, I was smiling secretly. I need to grow up. But kids loved it. And I was avenged.

I use an app on my iphone called Sky Guide. I learned all the constellations in an Earth and Space Science class in the 70's but I had forgotten most of my memory aids over the years. Here is a screen snapshot. It doesn't use the camera, so you can use it day ir night, indoors or out. You can hold the iphone in any orientation and it will show you the current sky in that direction. Even if you point it towards your big toes. 😎

I have always considered human beings to be 'containers' ever since I listened to him. Previously I just called them 'meat suits'.

brig, I literally had no frame of reference as to what was going on when I called in. I'm glad the guest was able to make some use of my call. Calling in from a wedding (while drinking) was much more enjoyable than I thought it would be. Calling from a quiet empty room now sounds boring.   :-\

Thank you for that, I enjoyed the realism to that call. I invisioned you calling from a bathroom stall smoking a joint. You also made Carl Laugh, good job.
