No, it was vtageezer. The V at the beginning got me mixed up.

You know how important my standing on an internet message board populated by a bunch of degenerates devoted to an old radio host is. EXPECT SEVERAL STRONGLY WORDED PRIVATE MESSAGES!

Y'all are threatened by this empowered confident woman.

Seriously though, good GabCast. This and Dark City are the two shows I most look forward to.

Thanks, brig! Good info.  :)

I had to hunt for that lol's  There's more places I've seen it brought up, I will post them IF I can find any more.  I have a vague memory of Keith mentioning it as well, but I am old and easily confused.

You're the best brig.  :)

You and I need to go to Vegas and get rich at the Hilton sportsbook.

Same here, I also like "WhySoTechnical", and "EndOfDaysRadio"   Those are my top 4.

Their mission is now to destroy the show and make Heather's life hell.
This can only happen if she allows it. No one is forcing her to read anything or interact. She could really learn from where Art failed, get a PR person, or better yet, just don't read it. She won't make it for any length of time she lets this kind of stuff bother her. *If* she gets big and is renewed for another month it is only going to get worse. Being a public figure is not for the faint of heart.
I am going to throw my hat in the ring for the next gabcast if it's not at 2am on a Friday. LOL.

This place has the steadiest hand at the till of any of the boards I've been on. People are treated like adults - even if they are not.

The worst thing an administrator/moderator can do is treat his users like churls. It's bad business and bad manners.

If I were in Heather's shoes, I don't think I'd read Bellgab for a while -- it's too negative right now.  Better to keep track of how MITD is really doing by listener numbers and feedback at the many 'Art Bell/MITD' groups on Facebook.  I have one, as many of you know.  I'm still posting up the group's nightly chat thread for the show and some members are listening still and participating in the chat.

Listening to the latest Gabcast now.  Sort of depressing, it is, but interesting.  Can you guys provide to me the link to this "4chan" forum that reportedly hate Bellgab and come here to troll?  Curious.

Faustina

Is this the forum MV is referring to on the latest Gabcast?

I agree with MV:  cannot believe Art couldn't hire a security guard (or 2) for the period right before he went on the air, during, and right after.  It would have very likely been enough security to give him safety when he went on the air.  It's like he didn't want to bother going to that sort of effort coz he didn't care enough to.  Which makes me jump to the conclusion that he was tired of doing the show, and jumped at this excuse (even if it was a real threat) to just toss it all in.

Art is stubborn, he isn't going to do anything he doesn't want to do, end of story.  He doesn't want to hire security, so he isn't going to do it, and that's the end of his thought process.

The problem is, combined with his history of finding an excuse to quit whatever show he has, as his first and only response when things don't go his way - along with the other holes in his story - it's another reason people for people to not believe him this time.

I see Art's side of it. Do I really want armed guys around my family and me? Do I want cut rate idiots wandering around my property at night with guns? Do I want a potential shootout on my property just to do some silly radio show when it doesn't matter?

I think there's a lot of different things to contemplate and armchair quarterback on. But not having armed security wandering around makes complete logical sense to me.

That's my opinion.

Well, he'd be the one hiring them.  They wouldn't have to be armed, and they wouldn't have to be idiots.  Give them a phone and have them out there for the 3 hours of the show while he's in the studio.

I wouldn't do that either though, whether continuing the show or not I'd move the family to a safe undisclosed location.  If there was actually a threat.

That's it in a nutshell.  He suddenly quit the Sirius show in another very similar manner, when if he'd had a bit of patience and the ability to compromise, things could probably have been worked out.

That is another thing he could have done, both to save his family AND save the show.  Probably too much time and trouble to go to for a 70 year old.

And a lot of expense.  I sometimes think that Art doesn't like having to spend a lot of money if he can possibly avoid it.

in the road-mapped eyes of every strung out junkie lying in the gutter... in the unfolding wet wings of an ascended 17-year cicada... at the bottom of every prize-promising QUISP cereal box... in the crooked grin of a ripped open condom packet... in the coagulated rusty blood filling the inclined threads of the glass screw of a Tabasco bottle... in the Grim Reaper metal to wood fatalistic ~snap~ of every mousetrap...

in the quivering slippery rind of every pulsing neutron star...

there is gabcast...

come quickly...
