We're going to start trying something new with this show.

Starting with the next episode, we're going to open up the hosting seats to the full forum user base. It doesn't matter who you are or how long you've been posting or who you're friendly with... if you volunteer to host the show, you're in as long as you're among the first three people to say so. You also need to have decent audio quality over Skype.

I originally thought it would be best to favor new/random BellGab users over the show's "regular" hosts, but it's simpler, more fair, and eliminates butthurt to just open it up equally to anyone who puts a hand up.

From the beginning, The GabCast was supposed to be an audio representation of the forum, and making it a more randomly hosted show will bring it closer to that. Also, having a greater number of random people on the show will make users more comfortable and assertive when they do come on, since they won't feel so much like an outsider stepping into someone else's club.

Some of you will think the whole idea is dog shit, but the only way to know if it works is to try it. BellGab's user base is now large enough to pull this off, and there are many who would love to start hearing the voices of a wide array of BellGab users hosting The GabCast.

Before each show, the call for volunteering hosts will happen in this thread.

With that said, who wants to host on Tuesday (Oct. 20)?

Sounds fair to me.

I 100% endorse this! I love hearing new users as you can put a voice with the avatar/posts!

MV! Can you volunteer ONLY IF not enough new people step up and ask? I have been on twice and really enjoyed it. However, I would only want to volunteer IF no one new wanted to do so.
