So funny you posted this cuz I was thinking of a "what's for dinner" thread for a couple days now.

I'm having pizza rolls!  Cheezy garlic flavor with a side of fresh veg
It won out over current favorite: "Kale and julienne carrot tossed in pesto with WW vermacelli (that's tomorrow)

Totino's probably wonders why their product receives so much attention on the internet these days.

Mmm pizza rolls

If Noory burned his mouth, you're likely to cause the next calamitous(that means bad) conflagration(that means fire)

Wings & beer tonight!

The pizza rolls were a bust.  they broke open and oozed all over the pan.  The directions clearly warned that the contents would be very hot in case I couldn't figure that out.  Had lentil pate spread with the veg.

Tonight itis the pesto kale and WW spaghetti.  Probably broccoli too cuz it needs cooking.  We are having a Breaking Bad finale party here so maybe a little cab too.

To protect them from delicious lawsuits.

So I was feeling like Caribbean food today and got a wild hair to make jerk chicken with Cuban moros y cristianos on the side. I've made this often in the past, it's really good, works well on the grill etc.

Well, the authentic way it's made on the street in Jamaica includes drizzling the chicken with hot sauce. Instead of using a typical hot sauce like Frank's or something, I got this Jamaican sauce called 'Pukka . . .

HOLY JESUS. Total pizza roll moment.

I suck at cooking. My husband is the chef. But, the artistry of cuisine/ drinks exhillerates me. I'm not Vegan, but tried. I eat lots of fish. Organic, raw foods, gluten free. Only because I truly feel sensational from that kind of diet. However, I'm a frikken cheese fan. Not grocery store cheese. Artisan cheeses. I took a course of cheeses, pairings at Murray's in NYC. It's my treat and love cheesemongers. Only in a great while as the dairy is too much on my system. But a nice fruit plate...ah lavender goat cheese or espresso rubbed chedder. God Allmighty.

Pizza roll moment: Picked up one of those Amy's organic burritos. It felt lukewarm after I microwaved it. Damnit, took a bite and had to spit it out as it was insanely hot.

Ha. Hey, I've been meaning to ask you about your Avatar. At first, I thought it was you. Then, I think I saw a post of yours and realized you were male. Love that Hello Kitty gun. Who is that lady?

About two weeks ago I was gonna start a "share your recipe's" thread. That being said I am a Chef (uncertified) so I guess I'm a very good cook of fine meals. I love to drink good scotch and cook all day long.

If anyone ever wants a fantastic osso buco (braised lamb shanks) recipe? hit me up. I also have a Fine Dining grilled ham n cheese sandwich that is .. well, awesome.

Everybody should learn to make a home made chicken stock with wholesome ingredients and fresh erbs or herbs even. You'll never go back to store bought cartons. Also! make your own fish stock for chowders and bisque's. Brine your roast chicken for at least 8 hrs.mmm fuckin mmm.

ksm32

Brine the chicken before roasting, just sayin.

THIS. If we're having pasta & I ask you to pick up some cheese for grating, it better be fresh Pecorino Romano. You come back with Kraft Parmesan & you will be force fed that stupid plastic canister it comes in.

I wish I knew.  I'd try to catch her and bring her home.  I love the gun, too.

I would love a recipe sharing thread. As far as scotch goes.. I'm not normally a fan, as I prefer not to drink a campfire, but I had a nice glass of Chivas at Saks the other weekend & enjoyed it immensely.

I must sound like Frasier Crane.

No, we all heard you converse with Dave and I you did not sound at all like any Crane... more like a "Marianne."  If you do not like drinking campfire, you might try Glengoyne as they bill themselves as unpeated.  I kind of prefer drinking down smoldering embers on a cool, crisp fall night.  There are better out there- but for value it was a young Lahproaig quarter cask tonight (either it or Peat Monster usually fill my glass after being out on the jet ski in October.)

Being as this was not created for Scotch snobbery I will contribute to the "cooking" portion (though I have to stretch it a little to include baking again tonight.)  Last night was white bread that reminded me of how long it has been since I did home made bread.  Tonight it was a German sourdough rye that my grandfather had started years back.  it will be ready for the oven in 10 minutes.  This time it is 1/2 rye, 1/2 all purpose flour, water, milk and salt.  tonight I added some caraway, molasses and a touch of honey... How bad can it be?

sleeplessinca

It's going to sound boring but is so good...
Is this considered cooking?

Fluffy brown rice microwaved 2 minutes with a lot of minced kale and basil.
Fold in favorite pesto.
Garnish with Crabmeat and fresh salted (and lightly sugared a la Asian style) Brandywine tomato.

My current favorite cooking show is The Great British Bake-Off.
One of them made Spotted Dick - I've heard of it but never seen it.

I like the British version of Master Chef.  It's so sedate and composed versus the garish US version.  It's about the cooking rather than the personality conflicts the US version promotes.

I've seen Spotted Dick at various military Commissaries over the years. Most of them have decent "foreign" food shelves.  I never tried it, but it looks pretty good.

I loved Masterchef Australia.  It is nothing like the US version.  Very supportive and positive.  Everyone is better for having been there. Can't even watch the US version with all the nastiness.  I can only follow one cooking show at a time.

I tried to get the Gabber, Jaz-something from Australia to say if it really was that different there.  He never answered.  Maybe he fears me immigrating.
