That's why I avoid legal thrillers. It's no wonder that I dropped out of law school.

Just watched the episode. Jesse's epiphany about the ricin after finding the he cigarette pack in his pocket is beyond weak. It's used as a deus ex machina, where merely seeing it causes him to immediately conclude a whole series of actions. In that sense the cigarette pack is magical, since it enables Jesse to gain mind-reading ability. In RL finding the cigarette pack wouldn't have necessarily resulted in a second thought,  much less breaking down a whole series of carefully arranged plans. I just don't see it.

I liked it. In fact, the ONLY thing I don't like is SKYLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

though, I might add that lately she's been somewhat tollerable. Just can't stand her silent air time.

Nah, he's not just seeing the pack, he's noticing that Hwel managed to pick his pocket... again. I agree it's pretty weak though. But then I thought the whole poisoning the kid thing was a bit rushed and badly explained.

Actually, it turns out it was Hank all along.

I'm kinda a newbie, but I think the dude is just some car wash owner, totally legit. The bald guy with the limp seems to be framing him.

When all else fails...blame his Mexican partner.

I would have found it much more satisfying had Walt framed Skyler and then gone with the kids to see the vacuum cleaner guy.

There seems to be a overwhelming sentiment of having Skyler getting the Madame Ceausescu treatment. There has to be somebody from "The Cartel" looking northward for revenge.

you know, you're right.  there's been too clean a separation from that whole situation.  if that sleeping dog doesn't bite someone before the end, then i'd say that's a huge hole in the writing.

perhaps the cartel kills hank, erasing walt's leverage in that direction.  the DEA then closes in on walt shortly after.

Like Christopher Lloyd yelling "The Libyans!!!" in Back To The Future, I've been awaiting the return of "The Mexicans" in some shape or form. Considering the show's New Mexico setting, I'd be stunned if there wasn't some development that involved a significant body count. Maybe they'll appear with the "Aryan" bikers, given their partnerships in the prison system.

Or maybe a la the Seinfeld finale, everyone Walt has ever screwed - or their next of kin - shows up at the same place at the same time to get their revenge. That might be why the writers have given Tony Montana a grenade launcher on his M-16 Walt an M-60 in his trunk.

Maybe Newheart? Wakes up after having fevered dreams about this life as drug baron and his wife from Malcolm In The Middle...

If the finale involves a diner and awful Journey song. :-\

Heh. I was one of the ones who felt cheated by that ending. I came down on the side of it meaning it was a hit in which Tony was killed. The show was from his perspective, and going to black meant the guy who walked in and went almost immediately to the restroom came out shooting a la Michael at Louis restaurant in The Godfather. Don't know about the rest of the family, but IMO Tony bought it.

I tend to believe Tony was killed as well. The penultimate episode where Tony and his confederates are holed up a safehouse, he flashes back to Bobby once telling him "you never see it coming"(Bobby clearly didn't see his time coming) .

I strongly suspected David Chase was incapable of giving us anything other than a opaque finale. I wasn't disappointed, only in the sense that I'd come to expect some open ended shade of grey from the show.

MV/Liberace!

david chase did confirm in an interview that tony died.  i'm too lazy to look it up, though.

I wonder if Skyler's former boss makes an appearence again?  We're running out of time here. Only 5 Epesodes left, No way they will sweep him under the rug that easy.
Maybe he rolls up in a hoveround looking for a rim job, or Walt straps a propane bundle under his wheel chair and rolls him into Hank's house.  ;D

       Recent interview? That wisenheimer.

A lady I worked with was insistent that Tony would have a panic attack and a resulting coronary that would kill him in the finale. Considering Gandolfini's actual death, it was kinda prescient. I thought that would have been a pretty plausible story line for Tony's end...but would be seen as copout by many. Bobby, Sil get shot and Tony drops dead. Just a bit anticlimactic for those wanting Tony getting whacked like Gallo or Castellano.

Chase was and is still kind of flabbergasted that people didn't like his ending (which flabbergasts me). Supposedly, the "meaning" of the abrupt cut to black was not just the literal end of Tony, it was the symbolic ending of the viewer's peek into Tony's life. The blackness was to cover the viewer's eyes.

David Chase, very talented, but the tortured artiste attitude "these damned philistinic plebeians will never understand my vision" is really tiresome. Not surprised by it, but it feels more contentious than genuine. If somebody suggested what he said...he'd refute it and say something else.

Ten points for the comment but an extra 10 points for the rarely used "ic" suffix on philisitine.
